On the evening of December 2nd, 2024, Nelson breathed her last in St. Joseph Missouri. She had been suffering from lung cancer for years now, and died owing to some complications related to that.

She even took to X to rejoice her son’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 2022. At the end, she was just another mother who was her son’s biggest fan. And her departure must have left a mark in theMockingbirdrapper’s heart.
