According toVariety, her issue with the network stemmed from a misunderstanding about a signed letter that indicated she would return to work. Why Did Jorja Fox LeaveCSI: VegasAfter the Departure of William Petersen?

Jorja Fox reprised her iconic Sara Sidle role inCSI: Vegasbut announced her departure from the same in 2022 ahead of its second season. Her decision to leave the project came right after her co-star William Petersen, who played her love interest Gil Grissom, said he would not be back in the show.

Apparently, for the actress separating Sara and Gil was not something she could do, and she added via X,“I have decided not to ‘Sidle up’ for CSI: Vegas.”She continued that for her the show was always about a love story and how people can find love even in the darkest places.

Hey all you#CSIfans! After much deliberating, I have decided not to ‘Sidle up’ for CSI Vegas. For me CSI has always been a love story. The story that people can find love in the darkest of places and times. (1)

So, because of this“So goes Grissom…So goes Sara. Wherever they go, they belong together.”The dynamic between Sara and Grissom has always been the main focus of her storyline on the show. Speaking about her return to the role, she added:

When Sara and Grissom come back together as a couple, it was a risky decision that Jason Tracey made, but it’s been so fun to play and honestly an homage to long-term love and what does it mean to be with somebody really through the good times and the bad times over an extended period of time.

She continued:

I’m a romantic and I believe in love and I’ve never had an opportunity to play a long-term relationship like this.

The revival of the show was officially intended as a series focusing mainly on Sara, Grissom and the Las Vegas crime lab. However, the strong ratings greenlit CBS to bring back a second season, and showrunner Jason Tracey has reassured fans that Sara and Grissom’s legacy will always have a place in the show.
