Channing Tatum has always been known as a fun actor with a bit of charisma and amazing dance moves. But only a few know how far he is willing to go to secure a role in a Quentin Tarantino film. Tatum’s journey of working with the brilliant director made him take some unconventional steps.

However, his efforts weren’t in vain and he did become an integral part of a movie with a star-studded cast. Being in a Tarantino film is a significant career milestone for any actor, and Tatum was undoubtedly on cloud nine after he landed the role.

Tatum was only a newcomer to the Tarantiono Universe, and he found himself surrounded by seasoned actors who had worked with the director in their past projects.
The table read involved amazing and talented actors likeSamuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, and Bruce Dern. So naturally, it was an intimidating experience for Tatum. He shared more about the situation in aninterviewwith Access.

So, it was definitely nerve-racking. Even the table read was nerve-racking, man. [Samuel L. Jackson] was the only person who I’d worked with before. I met Kurt [Russell] very quickly one time. And that’s really it.
The part, I think, was written for someone a little older. And I think Quentin kind of had to have some time to figure out if he could make it work with some of the other characters.

Tatum had initially doubted that he would be cast in the film because the role was originally written for an older actor, but Tarantino ultimately adjusted the role to suit the actor and he was surprised by this gesture.

Being inThe Hateful Eightwasn’t just about working with Tarantino, but making up for another movie titledGambitthat was shelved. He was disappointed by the news of never bringing this superhero project to life, and missing out on a Tarantino project would add more salt to his wounds. So, in aconversationon The Tonight Show, the actor revealed the strange things he did to secure the role.
I basically sent about an email a day for about a month just threatening any other actors that might be up for the role. I was just praying that no one really tough was up for the role.
