Rebecca Fergusongave an interview withThe Timeswhere she talked about what her first experience on a red carpet was like. The actress revealed that when she was nominated for her first Golden Globe award, she was extremely nervous.She was up against actresses like Hellen Mirren, and Helena Bonham Carter, for her work inThe White Queen, and was supposed to walk the red carpet into the event. Oddly enough, the walk into the award show was much more scary for her than being nominated.

“I was nominated for my first Golden Globe award in 2013 with ‘The White Queen’, with other nominees including Helena Bonham Carter and Helen Mirren”Ferguson went on,“I just rocked up on the red carpet. I was winging it. I had no make-up artists or stylists. I was smiling for photos and then Cate Blanchett’s team started nudging me to ask, ‘Is it all right if Cate takes this?” She glided effortlessly, while I walked like a lumberjack.”

Since she was very new at this, she did not have a professional team guiding her through the entire process. This was unlike Cate Blanchett, whose team asked Ferguson to let theCarolstar take over from her. This made her want to learn how to better do this very important and unavoidable part of being an actress as successful as she is.

Zendaya Helped Rebecca Ferguson Get Better At Public Appearances

Rebecca Ferguson mentioned that herDuneco-star, Zendaya, ended up teaching her how to have a better stage presence when in front of a camera on a red carpet. This is a lot different than acting and theEuphoriaactress has made a reputation for herself as being a pro when it comes to public appearances. Not only does she have excellent control of herself, but she also embodies elegance and beauty when she is making her way into these events.

“I’m not great at red carpets. Zendaya, who I worked with on ‘Dune’, can just play on set, wearing socks and no make-up, crazy hair, and then just put it on for the red carpet and become like a cat. I study how she does it, even though I’m older.”

Ferguson wanted to learn how she could also do this. The actress mentioned that she recognized the fact that Zendaya was younger than her, however, she did not mind learning.
