Amid the lamentable woes of quarantine and pandemic cameSquid Game, a dystopian thriller that had perhaps the entire world in a chokehold. Remember how everyone was suddenly a chef in the kitchen, (blending sugar and baking soda, really) as they made the notorious Dalgona candy from the show? Yeah, that seems like a lifetime ago.

But don’t worry, Netflix has made sure that our memories from three years ago will be refreshed with a brand new season making its way toward fans and a grand finale to follow soon.
Netflix Plans to EndSquid GameSoon

In an official post on X, the studio announced a release date – and an exciting teaser – for season 2 of the South Korean survival horror. And while they’re planning on bestowing fans with a third season, it will also be the last, something which seems to have appeased people to a great extent.

I’m glad they’re putting that final season cap on it already so it doesn’t get overdone

If they wanted, they could’ve continued the black comedy for as long as they could get their money’s worth. But of course, that would’ve ironically cost them in terms of quality instead because we all know what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket and keep stuffing said basket until you may’t anymore.
Squid GameDirector Promises A“Thrill Ride”For S2
In an emotional letter to fans, Hwang Dong-hyuk – who helmed, wrote, and executive produced the ghastly hit – wrote about his elation regarding the forthcoming episodes which will gravitate around the winner Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) who skirted death by the skin of his teeth in season 1.
I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a newSquid Gamegrow and bear fruit through the end of this story. We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride.
