Within the anime and manga industry, the one thing that speaks about the success and achievement of the work is the fanbase of the said project. And in the case ofJujutsu Kaisen’sfanbase, Gege Akutami was dealt a very bad hand. The series needs no introduction, as it has been at the top of its game for the last seven years, and the manga recently saw its conclusion.

WhileJujutsu Kaisenwas one of the greatest stories of all time, the fans it collected over the journey were not as good as the creators had hoped for. In fact, theJujutsu Kaisenfandom falls under the tag of one of the worst anime fanbases in the world. From obsessing over a character to spoiling the narrative,Jujutsu Kaisenfans are known for the worst.
This toxicity of the fanbase has finally fired back as Akutami recently shared a special message where they talked about their feelings towards their magnum opus. They also explained how they started hating their own work and had to complete theJujutsu Kaisenstory just for the sake of it.

Jujutsu Kaisenfans get a harsh reality check
While the message by Akutami aboutJujutsu Kaisenand its journey was truly heartfelt, it had a feeling of the mangaka hating their own story. They specifically mentioned that they felt “absentminded” only after three years of working onJujutsu Kaisen. Andthe toxicity of the fanbasemight be one of the biggest reasons behind it all.
Since the beginning of the series, fans have targeted Akutami for almost every aspect of the series.

I’m genuinely so sad, he’s just a person and went through so much all while people complained and insulted him. We now have confirmation that he’s chronically online so he definitely saw things that didn’t help his state of mind and health. I hope the best for himhttps://t.co/knsTJTSDvC
The biggest example of this isthe death of Gojo Satoru.Death was a normal aspect ofJujutsu Kaisen, considering the dark element of the series. However, when it came to the fan-favorite character, his admirers launched verbal attacks towards the mangaka.

He was brutally trolled and abused by theJujutsu Kaisenfans, and that’s not even the half of it. Even the delays and short hiatuses that the story took led to fans criticizing Akutami and pressuring him into releasing more chapters. Thus, it makes sense for the manga creator to feel disparaged towards their own work.
