With the rise of superheroes in media, actors are often told to put on muscles to fit their comic counterparts. Even Christopher Reeve, whose Superman doesn’t seem as musclebound as his successors, partly because of not wearing a rubber muscle suit, was trained by Darth Vader, akaDavid Prowse, to get into shape.

But not everyone had to spend a notable time in the gym to embody Superman, as Jack Quaid was able to deliver one of the best versions of Clark Kent in recent years despite not attaining a godly physique.
Jack Quaid Didn’t See Him Playing Superman Because of His Physique
Debuting last year,My Adventures with Supermanwas commended by both fans and critics, which brings an exciting take on the Man of Steel while also honoring the character’s decades-long history. And inThe BoysStarJack Quaid, fans found one of the best iterations of the character in recent years, even though the actor never thought he’d get to play Superman. But despite Jack Quaid’s doubts prior to auditioning for Superman, as he didn’t look like Superman, the power of animation allowed Quaid to put his own spin on the iconic character.

He told thePeople:
“I remember getting the audition and my first thought was sarcastically like, ‘Oh yeah, I’ll be Superman,’. But to put my own spin on it has just been such an immense honor that I never thought I would ever get the chance to play because I know I don’t look the part.”
Further listing the benefits of the medium of animation, Jack Quaid expressed“You can look like absolute hell and you can have a great day.”

Jack Quaid on His Dream Superpowers
Apart from sharing his love for Clark Kent and the medium of animation, which allowed him a lot of freedom, Quaid was quick with his response when asked what power of Superman he’d love to have. While Jack Quaid explained that his choice might seem boring to many, the actor stressed that he’d love to have Superman’s flight and maybe the ability to talk to animals, not just fish.
“This is going to be the most boring answer of all time: it’s flight. And I say anyone who says anything different is lying! You’re flying. I know it’s a pretty basic answer, but that and maybe I’d like to talk to animals just to see what they’re thinking. I’ll fly from port to port just talking to some critters.”

James Gunn’s Superman David Corenswet Is Now Way More Muscular Than Henry Cavill Ever Was As Man Of Steel
While the medium of animation ensured Jack Quaid was able to deliver an immaculate performance despite not looking the part, David Corenswet is putting on some serious muscles forSuperman: Legacy. And considering Corenswet stands at 6.3 feet, one could expect the actor to come the closest to Superman from the comics, physically.
