Using The Hot-Air Balloon Camera
Both Pauline and Ninji are unlocked byfinding them with the camera feature while riding the Hot-Air Balloon.This lets you zoom in to examine details while selecting a game mode.
Neither Kamek nor Toad mention it, but you can use the Hot-Air Balloon’s camera the very first time you play.
After you leave Party Plaza, you may use the thumb stick to look around. While doing so,press X to zoom in, and B to zoom out.
In addition to inspecting an island’s details,when fully zoomed in you can take pictures of characters and events.When you find Pauline and Ninji in this “scavenger hunt,” they’ll join the party!
There are 30 events to snapshot in this scavenger hunt. Up to three will appear each time you ride the Hot-Air Balloon. Visit the Data House to check your progress!

Pauline’s Location
One of the Mario greats,Pauline is an old-school bombshell who made modern appearances inSuper Mario Odyssey,Mario Strikers: Battle League,and now has her debut party performance inJamboree. To find her, scroll to the right of the Mario Party island.
Pauline is on an island with a red and white umbrella, between Mario Party and Minigame Bay.
If you can’t spot her, look for a sparkling effect. Once you’ve found her,zoom in and take a picture to trigger Toad’s dialogue and unlock Pauline.
Ninji’s Location
Although Ninji has been around awhile, this little guy’s probably best known currently for appearing as an enemyin the fantasticSuper Mario Wonder.You can find him from the Hot-Air Balloon in the same way as Pauline.
Starting from Mario Party island, scroll to the left.You’ll spot Ninji on a green pillar near Rhythm Kitchen.
As before, zoom on in with the X button and take a picture. Once you do, Toad will welcome your new friend toMario Party!
