Regional exclusives were introduced right from the start inPokemon GOwith the Gen I Pokemon, which carried over to Gen II with a couple others including Heracross.
Typically Heracross is only available in a specific region, but there have been a few occasions where you could get one worldwide through raids.
Pokemon GO Tour Johto is yet another example of that with Heracross being made available inPokemon GOaround the world for the one day event.
How To Get Heracross During GO Tour Johto
Heracross has been a fan favorite over the years since it was introduced inPokemon Gold and Silver, but has been a regional exclusive to Central and South America, but also can show up in parts of Florida and Texas.
Unlike most regionals though, we’ve seen Heracross show up as part of a few events in the past and now it’s back in Pokemon GO Tour Johto as a worldwide catch opportunity.
Heracross will not just be found in the wild outside of its region though. Rather, you will have to find them in tier 3 raids during the event, which should be pretty plentiful.
You will also have one other chance to get one during Pokemon GO Tour Johto through the Johto Battle Challenge Timed Research, as the reward for defeating the Bug GO Gym Trainer will give you a Heracross encounter as a reward.
Heracross Raid Counters
While Corsola is very easy to take down as a one star raid boss, Heracross is a little harder as a tier 3 raid boss. Even so, you won’t have to do too much planning.
As for Heracross in raids, you can take them down with one trainer if you want, but you can do it most efficiently with more of course.
You will want to enter the raid with a little strategy in typing, with Fire or Flying type moves being your best bet overall. Just pick your strongest Pokemon with these moves and you should have it taken down in no time.
