We have another episode ofStar Wars: The Bad Batchwith spoiler ahead the return of Captain Rex!
Star Wars: The Bad Batchcontinues to be packed with old characters and new storylines that enthralls us all.
Episode 7 saw Captain Rex finding and returning to the Bad Batch. After realizing that the squad still had their inhibitor chips, he warns them of the dangers.
The episode tells the story of how Wrecker fights his inner demon (rather, inhibitor chip) of obeying Order 66. But we aren’t told how Rex got his inhibitor chip removed which takes place inClone Wars.

Right before Order 66, Rex was delivering Maul into custody to Coruscant. There, he ran into Ahsoka and both talked briefly. She expressed her conflict with the war itself as the Jedi were meant to be keepers of peace but the war turned them into soldiers.
Both parted ways as an officer called Rex to listen to new orders. As you might’ve guessed, it was Darth Sidious ordering all clone troopers to execute Order 66. Rex got special orders to execute Ahsoka.

Ahsoka, upon entering the room, felt the disturbance in the Force. Rex was in turmoil and fought his programming until his defense fell. He shot Ahsoka but she defended herself from him and the other clones before escaping. As the clones starting hunting her, Ahsoka stunned Rex unconscious and bought him to Venator’s medical bay with astromech droids.
There, Ahsoka located Rex’s inhibitor chip using the Force and ordered the droids to surgically remove the chip while she defended the door. Just as the clones breached through, Rex’s operation finished and shot the clones after regaining consciousness.
Episode 8 ofThe Bad Batch, most likely to feature Rex, will release on June 18th. If the timing will be similar to all the previous episodes, expect it to drop at Midnight PDT.
