In a post on thePlayStation Blog, Sony confirmedHorizon: Forbidden Westis also coming to the PlayStation 4.
PlayStation President and CEO Jim Ryan confirmed the PS4 version will release the same day as the PlayStation 5 version. For those that own the PS4 version and eventually upgrade to the PS5, you’ll get the next-gen version for free, whether you’re playing it digitally or physically. In addition toHorizon: Forbidden West,Spider-Man: Miles MoralesandSackboy: A Big Adventurewill also be available on the PlayStation 4.
Horizon: Forbidden Westwasannounced back in Juneduring PlayStation’s The Future of Gaming Showcase. Not much is known about the story but we know it’s comingsometime in 2021. Additionally, we know that the game will feature over adozen new enemiesfor Aloy to fight.
After months of speculation, Sony finally confirmed thePlayStation 5 will launch on November 12for $499 for the disc-based version and $399 for the digital edition. The console will launch in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea on the 12th followed by the 19th for the rest of the world. Preorders startsometime tomorrowat select retailers, but PlayStation hasn’t specified which ones.
In addition to the price and release date, Sony announced thePlayStation Plus Collection, which features a variety of first and third-party games that’ll be available on the PS5 at launch. Some of these games include 2018’sGod of War,The Last of Us Remastered,Persona 5,Bloodborne, and more.
During the showcase, we also got looks at upcoming games likeFinal Fantasy XVI,Demon Souls, andResident Evil: Village. Additionally, we got abrief teaseof Sony Santa Monica’s follow-up toGod of Warwhich releases next year.
