Not only can you fly around Hogwarts on your broom, but you can also do so on magical beasts that double as flying mounts. These magical beasts include Hippogriffs and Thestrals.

How To Unlock Flying Mounts

Once you attend your first day in Beasts class, you’ll be introduced to Highwing, the Hippogriff. She will be the first flying mount you will unlock.However, you need to do a few things before you can fly her.

After class, you will be asked by Deek to return to the Room of Requirements.He will introduce you to the Nab-Sack, a sack similar to Newt Scamander’s suitcase.He will then take you on a quest to learn so that you’re able to learn how to catch beasts. You’ll be able to rescue beasts from poachers and from beast lairs.Deek’s quest and the one with your first Astronomy class will be the two quests you must complete to unlock Highwing.After completing the two, you will be asked by Natty to meet her at Falbarton to discuss information on Harlow. This starts the quest’The High Keep.'

Once you meet Natty, you’ll learn that Highwing is being held by Harlow and the poachers. You’ll need to enter the castle and save her from them. You and Natty will sneak around — Natty will attempt to find proof of Harlow’s involvement with dark wizards, and you will save Highwing.

Reaching Highwing will cause a shortcut scene where you and Natty take off on the Hippogriffs.This is the moment you unlock flying mounts.you’re able to summon Highwing from the same action wheel that you summon your broom.

Wingardium Leviosa can be a very useful spell in Hogwarts Legacy. Here’s how to unlock it to move enemies and objects at your will.

All Available Mounts

The only magical creatures that you can fly in the game are Hippogriffs and Thestrals. However, if you haven’t preordered the game or purchased the deluxe version, you’ll only have Highwing. Once you have these mounts, you can add them to your Vivarium.

As mentioned earlier,Highwing is the first flying mount that you will be able to unlock. She is a white Hippogriff.

Caligo is a reskin of Highwing.If youpre-ordered the game, you’d be given this mount at the same time you get Highwing.This is the Hippogriff that was saved at the same time as Highwing.

Sepulchria

The final flying mount you can obtain is Sepulchria, the Thestral.This mount is only available via the Dark Arts Pack that comes with the deluxe version of the game.This mount will also unlock when you unlock Highwing.

If you want to change your mount, just go into your gear and select the flying mount option. There, you will see every mount you have available.
