It is exciting to see screenshots of what’s to come; however, Kojima’s ever-changing mind proves nothing is permanent. Game development can take a while, especially for a massive production like this and the director has yet to share a release date which gives him enough leeway to do what he wants.

Director Hideo Kojima Revealed a Temporary Home Menu for theDeath StrandingSequel

The developers atKojima Productionsare working hard to finish this project and meet the target release date. The visuals and graphics of the original game have set the bar high for the sequel and the previews provided by the developers have shown thatDeath Stranding 2: On the Beachhasthe potential to be the flashiest and shiniest modern video gameever made.

While the gaming community is eager to learn about the release date, director Hideo Kojima can’t help but share the progress he is making instead. Kojima loves to share behind-the-scenes photos of him and his team working on the game and managed to slip a tiny teaser of what players thought they would see in the final product but it turns out all of it is practically a placeholder like the menu screen.

Love the image you used.

The temporary background image on the main menu featured on Kojima’s post was the key art with Norman Reedus’ Sam Porter Bridges and some fans loved it. The original game had a simple main menu featuring the beach and the gaming community can expect the same thing for the sequel. Perhaps Reedus put in a good word for fellow actor and friend, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, whom he starred alongside in AMC’sThe Walking Deadafterthe actors were seen posing for a picturewith director Hideo Kojima. The director loves adding friends and family to his games, and this could be a perfect fit.

There is no telling what the final main menu will look like but the current placeholder has set the bar high. Kojima loves to work on stories with a convoluted setting that challenges the mind and player on the stick. The lore ofDeath Strandingcan be confusing for those unfamiliar with Kojima’s writing meaning anything under the sun can be added to the game.

Death Stranding 2: On the BeachWill Also Feature Something Most Sequels Have Nowadays

While the background image is distracting and pure eye candy, some fans noticed that Kojima will include a recap feature. This feature is more commonly seen in recent first-party PlayStation Studios sequels likeGod of War RagnarokandMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Perhaps Kojima thought it would be best to add this feature and recommend new and returning players to get a brief recap of everything that happened in the first game to get up to speed.

Sam and Fragile in Death Stranding 2

The first game primarily featured different parts of America as Sam is tasked to reconnect the country. This time around, Sam will be venturing to Mexico and there is a strong likelihood that the main menu will feature beautiful vistas and landscapes around the region.
