Knight confirmed to BBC that initially, they wanted to run the show for seven seasons. However, the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the show’s production and the creators lost one year because of it. And after losing Helen Mccrory during the pandemic. the creator decided to the end the show with Season 6 (Via:Variety).

“We just felt, also with the loss of Helen [McCrory], that it all seemed to be pointing towards doing what I’m calling ‘the end of the beginning,“said Steven to BBC.

However, the good news is thatPeaky Blinderswill return on the big screen, as Steven Knight confirmed that there will be a movie based on the series. What’s interesting is that Thomas Shelby and Arthur Shelby will return in the movie, and the story will be set around the beginning of World War 2.

After the movie,Peaky Blindersmight expand through spin-offs; however, nothing is confirmed as of yet. Also, there’s no release window for the movie, so we have no choice but to wait until we hear something from the creator or BBC.
