Arrowhead Game Studios had a great start to the year thanks toHelldivers 2. The game managed to exceed all expectations and had people rushing in to play it. The game became so popular to the point that even the servers started having a difficult time keeping up with it.
The sequel to the 2015 game has broken records when it comes to Sony’s PC games.Helldivers 2has also been very popular on Steam and has managed to break some records which includes surpassing concurrent players for big releases likeStarfieldandDestiny 2. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Xbox players also want to get their hands on the game, given all the hype it has managed to create within the short time of its release.
Helldivers 2petition gains momentum
Despite repeated requests by Xbox users, there isn’t a clear pathway for the game to make its port to Xbox consoles. Therefore taking matters into their own hands, a group of passionate Xbox fans launched a campaign to get the game, which is currently available on PC and the PlayStation system, onto the Microsoft-owned Xbox console.
TheChange.org petitionwas started on February 15, titled: BringHelldivers 2to Xbox – Fans Await Thrilling Co-op Action. The main objective here is to draw the attention of the concerned parties to the issue. The petition was started with a goal of 150,000 signatures.
The creator of the petition Isaiah Hardin justifies the campaign by writing,“This rallying cry isn’t just about expanding accessibility; it’s about fostering unity, challenging boundaries, and elevating the collective experience for gamers worldwide.”

The petition is going strong and has already achieved an impressive number of 97,359 signatures and is soon on its way to reaching an incredible milestone of 100,000 signatures. Apart from the Xbox fans, this petition will be of great help to evenHelldivers 2developer Arrowhead Game Studios as this might lead to the game being introduced to the Xbox systems and spread democracy all across.
Will Xbox users get to playHelldivers 2?
However, as of now, it is unlikely that the game will make its way to the Xbox consoles. Even though the game has been developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, it has been released and licensed under the PlayStation IP list. Since the console war that has been going on is known to all, the game will not be available on Xbox consoles from previous generations or those from the current generation.
In any case, Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios,stated in a Gamefile interviewthat he’s,“not exactly sure who it helps in the industry by not being on Xbox.”

Furthermore, Sony Interactive has been historically known for not sharing many of its exclusive titles with rival companies.
