Tachikawa not only explained how the second season was better, but he also talked about how ONE, the creator ofMob Psycho 100, got involved in the production of the anime series. The director also revealed that while the production of the anime was going on, ONE wanted to make some changes that would fit perfectly for the anime series.
However, Tachikawa wanted to adapt the anime from the original material without any changes, as it would have helped the series keep its essence, making the narrative ofMob Psycho 100one of the best storylines in the anime world.

Tachikawa stated:
“We had ONE sit in on our script meetings and proceeded writing the script while discussing opinions back and forth with him. ONE was worried about various things from the original (such as the name of the Telepathy Club) and said he wanted to change some things, but I think those are the things that make Mob Psycho what it is, so we left them as they are in the original.”
Tachikawa pointed out that the series had the perfect balance of seriousness and comedy. However, they eventually had to make some changes to the serious storylines because they were too intense for theMob Psycho 100anime series.

The Only Change Made in theMob Psycho 100Anime Series Was Its Pacing
While discussing the changes in the anime and manga series, Tachikawa explained that the only major change was the pacing of the series. TheMob Psycho 100was created for weekly serialization, which is why they had to manage to put one arc in at least two episodes.
“The manga was composed as a weekly serial, so we had to change the composition in the anime episode to make sure we matched the pacing and feel of the original. As long as we decide what we’re going to focus on, it’s not too difficult, but I also don’t like cutting things. As long as we have the time, we are fighting with the pacing in the anime.”
