Focusing on the story of how Maya Lopez aka Echo connects with her Native American roots and plans to take down Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin’s empire, the series seemingly built up a connection withDaredevil: Born Again.
By the end of the show, during the post-credit scenes,Echohinted at the looming issue of how New York City is left with no clear frontrunner for the heated mayoral election. It then focuses on Kingpin who is sitting in his private plane as this news flashes, therefore hinting at the Devil’s Reign storyline that is going to be the blueprint ofDaredevil: Born Again.

Thus, withEcho’spost-credit scene hinting at the same thing, it sets a clear connection with Matt Murdock’s upcomingDaredevilproject. With fans becoming clear about MCU’s direction, they come up with a wild theory.

If the fan theory comes true, then according to the Devil’s Reign storyline thatDaredevil: Born Againwill follow, Wilson Fisk will be forced to flee the city, and Luke Cage will win the election by default and become the elected Mayor of New York. This plotline on the one hand will again make Marvel interesting to watch, but on the other hand, it might make the show go political with a Black man standing for mayor.
