The two heavy hitters ofOne Piece, Monkey D. Garp and Red-Haired Shanks, have finally entered the center stage in theOne Pieceanime with their recent bouts. A few episodes ago, Shanks was seen destroying Eustass Kid and his Kid Pirates, and now Garp is wreaking havoc on Hachinosu Island to save his apprentice Koby.

The two characters are considered to be the strongest Haki users in the history ofOne Piece, with power that parallels that of Gol D. Roger. However, Eiichiro Oda decided to introduce another Haki user who might have an even stronger Haki ability than Shanks and Garp. This character is none other than Joy Boy.
One Piecechapter 1122 revealed that the Iron Giant who was fighting the Five Elders had a secret Haki attack stored within him by Joy Boy. This attack not only defeated the Five Elders but also sent them back to Pangea Castle. And now, the spoilers of the new chapter have officially confirmed that his Haki ability was more powerful than Shanks’.

Joy Boy’s Haki That Defeated The Five Elders
The Straw Hat Pirates’ struggles in the Egghead arc against the Five Elders and the Navy have finally ended, and it’s all thanks to the Iron Giant, Emet. The Iron Giant had been sleeping for almost 200 years, but as soon as he heard the drums of liberation, he woke up and chose to help Luffy in taking down the Five Elders.

However, even with the power of the Iron Giant and Gear 5, Luffy couldn’t even lay a decent attack on his enemies. Thus, the Iron Giant decided to use the one attack that he had been hiding for 800 years. He had a knot within him that contained the Conqueror’s Haki of his “Nakama” Joy Boy, the first pirate inOne Piece.
The Iron Giant untied this knot, and it released a surge of Conqueror’s Haki that transformed the Five Elders back to their human form, sent them back to Pangea Castle, and knocked out every single Navy officer, even the Vice Admirals. This attack was so strong that it was even visible from far away.

Eiichiro Oda Confirms Joy Boy’s Haki is Stronger Than Shanks and Garp
Joy Boy’s attack not only left an impression onOne Piecefans but also on the characters of the story. This was confirmed by the spoilers ofOne Piecechapter 1123. The spoilers focused on Dorry and Brogy’s conversation, which pointed out that the Conqueror’s Haki attack used by the Iron Giant was evenstronger than Shanks’ Haki.

This also proves that the concept of Haki thatOne Piecefans have known till now is only half of it, and there is more to the story. However, the death of the Iron Giant might keep this story hidden for a while.
