Rockstar Gameshas officially shared the first set of details on 2023’s Summer Update forGrand Theft Auto Online, introducing a new San Andreas Mercenaries mission, a new quest-giver that will lead the operation, several quality-of-life improvements, and of course, a bunch of new vehicles.
As far as we know, the Summer Update will feature at least three new vehicles, including two new cars and a new fighter jet. Rockstar has yet to officially announce the name and price of each new vehicle, but for now, you can take a quick look at them.
The new sedan is highly inspired by the real-life Dodge Challenger. We will also get to drive a new SUV, although it seems like an agile compact vehicle. Last but not least, the new fighter jet also looks quite familiar, especially if you have happened to see the United States' F-35 fighters.

The new fighter jet is expected to play a key role in the upcoming San Andreas Mercenaries mission, as you will get to see a lot of dogfighting in this new contract led by Charlie Reed, an expert aircraft mechanic. This new quest-giver is gathering around a handful of ex-military pilots to operate a series of attacks on Merryweather Security, a corporation that will turn into your main target during the new Mercenaries mission.
But the new vehicles aren’t the only new content coming our way. Other than the new playable content, Rockstar Games is also planning several quality-of-life improvements for this year’s Summer Update, including the ability to claim all destroyed vehicles when calling Mors Mutual Insurance, a new “hold-to-sprint” option for all platforms, new updates and features for the Creator mode, and some new upgrades for Avenger and Hangar owners. As Charlie Reed takes charge of the new operation, the Mammoth Avenger will turn into a new command center.
GTA Online’s Summer Update will be available across all platforms beginning on June 13. Rockstar Games has promised to share more details about the upcoming update as we get closer to the release date, so we will hopefully learn more about the new vehicles next week.
