To encourage and reward exploration of open environments, there are a bunch of artifacts to collect inGod of War Ragnarok, which don’t actually do anything in combat. They have no powers or perks, as they also do not boost your stats. Artifacts are mostly hidden in an edge and found during one of the Favours, which represent optional side-quests in the game.

There is nothing wrong with selling artifacts to earn silverback when you get the chance, as this resource can be used to upgrade your skills. They are just collectibles that reward you with new lore details regarding characters and locations they are found in. If you’re enthusiastic to read the game’s tapestry and mythical lore, you can take on a trip to gather artifacts across nine realms. Even after these valuable collectible items are sold to the dwarves, they will continue to count towards collection progress.

10Hreidmar’s Brassard

This is one of the ten artifacts that can be found in Svartalfheim, which is located in Aurvangar Wetlands. After shoring up to the beach, you must freeze the geyser by throwing the Leviathan Axe at the giant wheel’s base and jump across to find Hreidmar’s Brassard on the right side.

The artifact provides lore details about Hreidmar, who is widely known as one of the greatest armorers of Svartalfheim. He fathered three dragons you now know as Regin, Fafnir, and Otr while designing the Einherjar’s armor for Odin.

9Afterlife Abandonment

While passing through The Strond in Alfheim, you’re able to add Afterlife Abandonment to your collection, which reads a poem by Kvasir. It proves the ignorance of the reader if misunderstood.

Kvasir was a poet in Norse mythology whose 14 works can be discovered along your journey in different realms.

8Spirit Within Walls

Kvasir’s another work of brilliance, this poem artifact features a tale showcasing the power of visual art. It introduces a gentle boy whose mission is to save his home with the only weapon at his disposal, imagination.

After opening the above door in Temple of the Light during Groa’s Secret, you’re able to obtain Spirit Within Walls on a table to the left.

Celestial Construct

Celestial Construct is a mind-expanding poetic experience created by Kvasir, which is constructed with sentences, not just single words like other poems.

6Eastern Spectre

As its name implies, Eastern Spectre is a story from the east subsequently improved by Kvasir. It has nothing to do with the game’s lore like the other poems, so you can sell it to earn the silver hack when you get the chance.

To add Eastern Spectre to your collection, you must burn red vines covering a gap in the wall that you will see in The Sinkholes in Vanaheim after defeating Crag Jaw.

5Lofnheid’s Whitestone

It is a Things Left Behind artifact that you’re able to obtain on the northern lakefront in Svartalfheim’s Jarnsmida Pitmines. Lofnheid’s Whitestone is covered in red fungi bramble in the area, where you will find a chain leading down a small platform by the water.

The artifact tells a story about Lofn, also known as the twin sister of Lyng. She is a dragon wearing a cloth bag over her head with two circles representing eyes painted on.

4Althjof’s Statue

This is another Things Left Behind artifact that can be found in The Applecore in Svartalfheim, requiring you to throw your axe to a pot to open a new way. Follow that way, turn left, and leap up to the ledge; you will see the artifact on your left.

Providing details on the Althjof lore, this statue is one of the few items that we recommend keeping in your inventory to read an immersive story whenever you want.

Maya is a stolen treasure located underneath the bridge of Tyr’s Temple in Midgard. It is a sculpture from the southern empire, which reveals details about the southern gods.

According to the writings and hearings, these gods possess unparalleled wisdom and generosity. In addition, their god of death takes great pleasure in torturing expired souls with fire.

2Visions After Rest

Kvasir provides readers with new lore details with their own tools for crafting stories. The poem is also said to be a reference to PlayStation’s Dreams title.

It is located in the Temple of the Light in Alfheim, where you will enter a door and break the barrier on the right to reveal a point you’re able to leap up to. You will see it on the left side if you go up here.

This could be Kvasir’s best poem you can read in God of War Ragnarok. He relays a poem of oil-stick, which is a direct reference to Days Gone.

Head to The Oarsmen inMidgard, where you may not get inside until you’ve defeated the Stalker and pulled the chain to move the boat. You also must have opened the gate back to the starting area. Afterward, you can climb up to the wall to the left of the Noir Chest to find the poem that reads:

“Horses of steel

And oil and leather

Brothers who fight

And fall together

They rise from beneath

A new day dawns

The future has teeth

And yesterday is gone.”
