Sucker Punch’sGhost of Tsushimalaunched in 2020 and received overwhelming praise. A love letter to Akira Kursoawa’s samurai epics, the game followed the journey of Jin Sakai from a well-respected heir to the island of Tsushima to the renowned Ghost who fought off the Mongol invasion.
So, people were rightly excited when PlayStation revealed the game would be coming to PC. It follows Sony’s strategy to release titles on PC platforms after a few years of console exclusivity. However, some catches are going to impact your experience with the game.
Ghost of Tsushima PC Version to Have Some Conditions at Launch
PlayStation has been releasing its exclusives on PC for a while now to allow more people to play the game. The most obvious reason behind such a decision is to get more people interested in their exclusive titles and thereby convert more people to buy a console. After all, PC players have to wait years for the port to be developed and launched.
It started with 2018’sGod of War, and now we have theGhost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. While the game has yet to launch, there isalready some degree of controversy. The port is being handled by Nixxes Software, who recently uploaded a note via its X channel to discuss more details about the launch.

With the game coming to Steam, many people would undoubtedly want to play the title on the go on their Steam Decks. Well, there’s good news and bad news on that front. Nixxes Software revealed the team has worked to optimize the game for the Steam Deck and other PC handheld systems for the base game and theIki Islandexpansion.
The Steam page has marked the title as ‘Unsupported’ for the Steam Deck. This is due to the Legends co-op multiplayer mode requiring the game to access PlayStation Network features via Windows. This shouldn’t be too much of an issue; hundreds of games are not officially verified for the Steam Deck but function just fine.
Legends Co-Op Multiplayer Available With Limitations
Sony typically brings exclusives to PCs when a sequel is about to release. Therumors of aGhost of Tsushima 2have been going aroundthe internet for a while now, and the port may be another marker hinting in this direction. A sequel will also no doubt include the Legends co-op multiplayer mode, and this is another detail spoken about in the note.

The mode in the port will include crossplay between PS4, PS5, and PC players. However, players will not be matched with other platforms automatically. Cross-play is going to be launched in a beta version, and players can try out the mode by inviting PlayStation users.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cutwill be available on PC on May 16 at 8:00 AM PDT/ 5:00 PM CEST/ 7:00 PM GST. Nixxes Software has added an infographic to the note detailing the release schedule in different time zones.
