The game’s first beta took place from Friday, June 13th, at 12:00 PM PDT through Sunday, June 15th, at 12:00 PM PDT, allowing players to get a taste of what they can expect when the game releases later this year. Sadly,the reception wasn’t exactly positive, leaving fans upset with what ultimately wasa disappointing experience.
Fans weren’t afraid to express their displeasure with the first beta experience, with one person saying on social media that they felt “severely disappointed. This game can’t launch like this in August so I really hope y’all make changes. Hoping the beta is actually utilized how it should be.”
The Second Gears of War: Reloaded Beta Will Run Longer Than The First
In response to the backlash, theGears of War: Reloaded team confirmed they’regiving fans what they want: “More maps. More modes. More time.”
The secondGears of War: Reloaded beta will run from Friday, June 20th, at 12:00 PM PDT through Sunday, June 22nd, at 9:00 PM PDT. This gives players an extra nine hours with the game compared to the first session.
That’s not all, though. This second beta will include the Execution game mode and the Canals map in the Competitive queue. Here’s every game mode and map that will be available this weekend:

Gears of War: Reloaded will be released on August 26th, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam. It is a remaster of the original Gears of War game featuring 4K resolution and 60 FPS for the campaign and 120 FPS for multiplayer. All previously released DLC from the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, which includes the bonus campaign from the game’s original Windows release, will be available.
