In the latestDune: Awakeningpatch, Funcom made a mistake while deploying a deep desert layout change, resulting in multiple PvE areas abruptly switching to PvP. The areas that were affected were heavily populated with end-game bases full of vehicles and valuable loot, and when the zone changed—swarms of base raiders could smell the blood in the water.
Dune Awakening Players Call For Patch Rollback After Losing Everything
The latest Dune Awakening patch unintentionally opened the floodgates for swarms of base-raiding thieves.
It wasn’t long before players began reporting massive losses at the hands of looters, with many players saying they wouldn’t be returning to the game unless there was a rollback. Fortunately, Funcom has quickly addressed the situation and hasresponded to the community.

“On Monday the 7th of July, we patched out a layout change to the Deep Desert which caused several areas of the PvE Deep Desert to become PvP enabled. This was an oversight in our development process and internal communications, which led to people suffering an unfortunate amount of lost bases and equipment.”
Dune: Awakening Vehicle & Item Reimbursement Is On The Way
In a sincere apology letter toDunefans, Funcom has statedplayers can expect to receive reimbursement for their lost vehicles and items by the end of the week.
We are working to reimburse vehicles and items (to the best of our ability) to players who were impacted by this. you’re able to expect the reimbursed materials, items, and vehicle components to show up in the in-game ‘Claim Rewards’ tab by the end of this week.

Not only is Funcom planning to reimburse players that were affected by the layout change mishap, they’ve also been working to remove exploits such as item duplication, third-party cheat engines and client hacks.
Here’s a list of what has been fixed inDune Awakeningso far:

In addition, if you lost items in the past due to bugs that caused your vehicle to be stuck in the sand as a sandworm charged your location, or your items just randomly disappeared from your inventory, don’t give up hope just yet;Funcom hasn’t forgotten about you.
At launch we lacked the tooling and logging to identify and reimburse all circumstances of item loss. But we have been working on improving our tools so that we can better reimburse players for vehicle losses due to bugs. —Funcom

Despite having some issues in the first month after full release,Funcomhas been very transparent, quick to respond tocommunity feedback, and have taken the players' item and vehicle losses seriously.
“Our aim is to resolve support tickets as quickly as we can, including tickets that were closed near launch when we weren’t able to properly reimburse players. If you have lost a vehicle to a bug and require assistance, please submit a ticket in-game and include vehicle type, tier, and when/how you lost the vehicle.”
