Corrin, also known as the Emblem of Fates, is one of the more unique Emblems in the bunch. She not only has physical weapon abilities, but she also has some powerful magical abilities as well. On top of that, some of these abilities change depending on the character you pair her with. It can be a lot to digest at first, but we’ve got you covered. This guide will walk you through each of her abilities, and who to pair her with.
Bond Effects And Abilities
Since Corrin’s weapon of choice is a sword, her abilities generally focus on supporting close-quarters combat.Sword Focusgrants up to +30 Hit at a cost of -10 Dodge when using a sword. She also has an HP buff that ranges from +5 to +15 depending on your bond level. These skills in combination make sure you never miss when attacking, and can take a few more hits during combat.
Corrin also has some passive and support abilities to incorporate into your play style.Quality Timelets you passively restore HP to adjacent allies when you act or wait next to them.Draconic Hexinflicts =4 to an enemy’s stats when you initiate combat. Similarly,Dreadful Auraalso triggers when you initiate combat and prevents the target enemies, and all enemies within one space of them, from moving for one turn. Both skills in combination make Corrin exceptionally great at debuffing multiple enemies at once with a single move.

Corrin’s most exciting abilities are by farDragon VeinandTorrential Roar. Dragon Vein adds a special environmental effect to certain spaces surrounding you. This effect also changes depending on which class you are. For example, Wolf Knights will create water spaces that reduce Avo, and Thieves will create a wide area covered in smoke that increases your Avo (avoid). Torrential Roar on the other hand is Corrin’s powerful Engage attack ability. When used, Corrin will fire a massive blast of water that covers 3 spaces. Any enemies caught in the blast will take massive damage, and those three spaces will be covered in water following the attack.
In addition to these powerful abilities, Corrin also has three weapons you can use when Engaged. TheDual Katanais a sword that has an advantage over lances instead of the usual advantage over axes.Wakizashiis a throwing sword that can only strike at range. AndYatois a powerful sword that can only be unlocked after reaching bond level 15.

Best Pairings
Even though Corrin is incredibly powerful on her own, you’ll need to pair her with the right kind of character if you want to get the most out of her. Pairing her with a sword user likeKagetsu,Goldmary, orLapiswould be ideal since they will be able to get additional Hit Bonuses for being the same attack type. They’ll also be able to use her Engage weapons and their base stats will help increase damage with each of the swords. These are the only perks that will be specific to sword users, so it is completely fine to pair her with a different class since you won’t be missing out on too much.
One of the things to consider when pairing her is how it changes her Dragon Vein ability. We found that having her paired with a Theif likeYunakawas really useful since she could create a wide area of smoke that boosted her allies’ Avo. When paired withAlear, Corrin’s Torrential Roar attack will span four spaces instead of three. This is the only way to boost her most powerful attack, but it is unlikely that you’ll ever have four enemies perfectly lined up in a row to take advantage of this perk. Because of this, it is best to save Alear for a different Emblem. Regardless of who you choose, every unit will be able to use her most useful abilities, so you really can’t go wrong.
