Emblem Rings not only give you powerful abilities while they’re equipped, but they also let you Inherit their power. One of the most interesting systems inFire Emblem Engageis the Inherit Skills option in the Ring Chamber. Once you’ve reached at least a Level 5 Bond with a specific Emblem Ring, that Unit can Inherit the ring’s power.

When spending your precious SP on Inheriting Skills, ensure to see if: “This effect will not stack if equipped while synced with Emblem [Character].” This means that you do not need to Inherit the Skill if you plan to leave that Emblem Ring equipped on the Unit.

10Resolve+ (Ike)

Granting bonus stats is a great way to empower your Units. Even just a few extra points into a Units stats can be a big differentiator in battle. With Ike’s Skill Resolve+, a Unit under 75% HP after combat is given Def/Res+7 so long as their HP stays below 75%.

By not topping off the Unit’s HP before you end your turn, Resolve+ can provide the bonus defensive capability to keep the Unit safe. Def/Res+7 is a tremendous boon that can mitigate a lot of incoming damage.

FE Engage Inherit Skill Ike

9Hold Out+++ (Roy)

The ability to keep Units alive is vital in Fire Emblem Engage. With Roy’s Skill Hold Out+++, you can save characters from death that would have otherwisemet their demise. Perfect on a frontline Unit like Diamant, this Skill can be a fantastic aid to tanking damage.

When equipped on a Unit that starts combat with at least 2 HP, Hold Out+++ will allow that Unit to stay alive during combat regardless of the damage taken. Whether you’re playing on Classic or Casual, this skill can help your Units stay on the battlefield.

8Gentility+ (Eirika)

Unfortunately, you can’t get through Fire Emblem Engage without your Units taking damage; like Thanos, it is inevitable. Mitigating as much of that damage as you can is very important. Eirika’s Skill Gentility+ is one of the best ways to reduce incoming damage and allow your tanky Units to hold the line.

By having Gentility+, your tanks will have a tremendous defensive advantage. Reducing damage by 5 can be a huge net benefit over the course of a battle. If you can get a high HP Unit on the frontline with Gentility+, it will allow your ranged characters to reign terror.

FE Engage Inherit Skill Eirika

7Dual Assist+ (Lucina)

In a battle, Backup Units will Chain Attack a foe when they are adjacent to an enemy being attacked by an ally. With Lucina’s Skill Dual Assist+ equipped on a Backup Unit, their range of Chain Attacks increases by leaps and bounds.

Rather than only Chain Attacking foes that are adjacent to their space, Backup Units with Dual Assist+ can hit foes within a much larger radius. Now, a Backup Unit doesn’t need to be next to a foe, they only need to be in the range of their Mov stat, and they will strike.

6Divine Pulse+ (Byleth)

Missing an attack can be brutal in a close battle. Byleth’s Skill Divine Pulse+ allows Units to turn a miss into a hit. If a Unit in your roster has a low Hit stat, their rate of landing an attack will be poor. To rectify this deficit, you’re able to either find a way to boost their Hit or equip Divine Pulse+.

Some Units start with poor Combat Stats that could make them a bad choice to have on the battlefield. However, if you have Byleth’s Emblem Ring, you can heavily increase a Units viability.

FE Engage Inherit Skill Lucina

5Holy Stance++ (Celica)

Although you typically want your mages to be positioned behind your melee characters, they will still sometimes get attacked. The Emblem Ring Celica, while best equipped on a mage, has a great ability to deal with attackers.

When a Unit with Celica’s Skill Holy Stance++ is attacked by a Corrupted foe, they will ricochet 50% of the damage taken back at the enemy. Generally, you don’t want your magestaking any damage. But if you have a mage with high HP, Holy Stance++ can contribute a ton of damage.

FE Engage Inherit Skill Byleth

4Momentum+ (Sigurd)

Mounted Units like Cavalry and Wyvern Knights can move great distances each turn. When equipped with Sigurd’s Skill Momentum+, Units can use their mobility to do extra damage. Momentum+ grants Atk+1 for each space the Unit moved before attacking (to their first attack).

Units with a high Mov stat can get tremendous gains from this Skill. If your playstyle is focused on aggressively charging in or using mounted Units to flank, this Skill can add a lot of damage. Equip Momentum+ on Alfred and watch him clean up.

3Quality Time+ (Corrin)

Restoring HP and playing defensively can be the key to routing the enemy while keeping your squad alive. With Corrin’s Skill Quality Time+, Units are rewarded for ending their turn adjacent to their allies. After acting, a Unit with Quality Time+ will restore 10 HP to adjacent allies and increase the support level between the Units.

Regaining 10 HP each round can quickly restore a Unit and increase your chances of survival. In addition, it will increase the support levels between Units, which ultimately grant stat bonuses on the battlefield.

2Break Defenses (Marth)

Utilizing the weapon triangle to your benefit is the best way to approach battles in Fire Emblem Engage. When a Unit attacks an enemy with the correct weapon, they break the opponent’s will causing them not to counterattack. In addition, if the attacking Unit has Break Defenses equipped, they will strike with an extra attack dealing 50% damage.

In battle, you always want to attack enemies with Units that will Break them; inflicting this status effect is very powerful.Marth’s Skill Break Defensesmake an already powerful feature of battle even more dominant.

1Unyielding++ (Marth)

Marth’s Skill Unyielding++ adds unparalleled survivability to a Unit. This Skill restores 40% of a Unit’s max HP when their health pool starts a phase below 40% HP. While doing more damage is always welcomed from a Skill, it’s even more important to stay alive.

Unyielding++ allows Units to focus on attacking by passively restoring their HP. Rather than wasting a turn by using a healing item, Units with Unyielding++ can push the assault. When you have a Unit that is likely to take damage, equip them with Unyielding++ and let them continue attacking.
