Soon after the newFinal Fantasy VIIrelated announcements on theState of Play February 2021, directorTetsuya Nomurashared new comments on Twitter regarding Part 2.Going over the various announcements, Tetsuya Nomura spoke about thePS5version ofFinal Fantasy VII Remake, titledIntergrade. Morevoer, he added that the development ofFinal Fantasy VII Remake Part 2is proceeding smoothly. This is the first development update on the sequel since the start of 2021. Producer Yoshinori Kitase hadteasedin December 2020 that we should wait a bit longer for more info. Tetsuya Nomura alsomentionedin the past he’d like to launchFinal Fantasy VII Remake Part 2as soon as possible.

It is reassuring to know that despite the pandemic and work from home conditions, the sequel’s development is going smoothly. Hopefully, Square Enix will reveal new information after the release ofFinal Fantasy VII RemakeIntergrade.

Note that Square Enix stated multiple times in the past thesequeltoFinal Fantasy VII Remakeis in development. We most notably heard details aboutClassic Modein the sequel. However, we don’t know yet how many sequels there will be. Moreover, please keep in mind thatFinal Fantasy VII Remake Part 2is a simple placeholder name we’re using. Square Enix did not announce an official title for the sequel yet.
