Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Why Did Sephiroth Become Evil?
Sephiroth was once one of the good guys. Here’s why he turned into FFVII’s main antagonist.
In the Junon region is a Mindflayer, which is one of the more difficult encounters players can face at this point in the game. Defeating the Mindflayer is well worth any player’s time as long as they know where to look and how to take care of the creature.

Where To Find The Mindflayer
TheMindflayer is theClassified Foe of theJunon regionand will require players to find and scan all four of the Lifesprings in that region. This is made much easier by getting the Chocobo for this region and also completing the Remnawave Towers to mark these Lifesprings on the map. Afterscanning all four of the Lifesprings in Junon, the Classified Intel for this battle will appear on thesmall island towards the southern section of the region.Be sure to heal up and buy items, as this fight will be even more difficult than the Quetzalcoatl.
How To Defeat The Mindflayer
The Mindflayer hasover 20,000 health and doesn’t have any weaknessesto really capitalize on to beat it. The best way topressure this enemy is by landing Synergy Attacks, making the best party composition of two characters that both have a Synergy Attack with Cloud and each other. Tifa is also a useful option if she fits into that criteria, as she specializes inquickly building up Stagger after pressuring the enemy.
Even if you’re at therecommended level of 27or higher, equip each character with a healing Materia, as using your MP for magic isn’t very helpful in this fight.Focusing on healing to build up to use a Synergy Attackis best and will deal more damage in the long run and keep your party alive. Before using a Synergy Attack, build up multiple bars of AP on each character, utilizing their strongest abilities after the Synergy Attackto take advantage of the Pressure effect.

Due to itslack of weaknesses and resistance, there’s no way to speed your way through this fight with high damage. This boss can also do a large amount of damage from any range due to its telekinetic powers, so it’s best to play safe, save up your AP, and capitalize on Synergy Attackswhen you may. Bringing additional MP restoration items may be necessary due to the length of time required to beat this enemy.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Best Party Composition
Players will make parties of three out of the seven available party members in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth; here are the best compositions.
Rewards For Defeating The Mindflayer
The Mindflayer will give840 XP, 6 AP, and 440 Gil when defeated, but the real prize is the Mindflayer Crown.Using this item in theItem Transmutercan create thePsychic’s Charm, which gives a max MP and Magic Power increase of 5% while also giving immunity against Silence. This is an incredible Accessory to give to a magic-heavy character such as Aerith, as the boost in stats will continue to grow as she does.
Enemies such as these are very difficult, and require players tohave a high leveljust to stay alive. Its important torestore the parties HP and MPbefore a battle to be ready for the difficulty.
