Final Fantasy 16will soon be released on June 22nd, but until then, players are able to access a free demo to try out the game. This Demo is accessible to anyone, giving you a small taste of the game’s story and gameplay.

This Demo is an excellent opportunity for those who haven’t made up their mind about the game while also giving anxious fans a chance to test out the game themselves before release.This Demo comes with two parts, with some of its data carrying over the main game upon release.
Updated by Joshua Leeds on July 3rd, 2023:With the full release of the game, we are now able to see exactly what players can expect when first turning on the game to make sure their data has carried over from the Demo. As the demo includes the early sections of the game, players are able to start making long-term decisions should they carry their progress over to the full game.
What Carries Over From The Demo
The Demo offerstwo parts of the game for players to play through. The first part you’ll have access to is the first two hours of the game’s story. This will introduce players to many characters and give some backstory to the main events thatset Clive off in his questthrough the main game. Aftercompleting this story-focused section, you’ll unlock the combat-focusedsection. This portion takes place later in the game, with Clivehavingmore Eikon abilitiesand companions to fight with. This will give players a taste of what the later sections of the game will bring, using powers and abilities you won’t unlock until later in the story.
Between the two sections,only the first story-focused part will carry over to the main game. With this mostlybeing the story-related intro to the game, it will allow players to jump right into the action upon full release. While thecombat section of the Demo doesn’t carry over, it is still a great experience that can get players ready forFinal Fantasy 16’s unique combat system.

How To Transfer Saved Data
After completing the Demo, its saved data will be downloaded to the saved data files within your PS5. As long as the completed Demo save filehas not been deleted from your files, the full game will be able to access these filesand carry them over the first time you load up the full game. Uponcompleting the Demo’s story, thefinal screen will prompt you to save your data to make it playable in the full version, and it is impossible to miss if you keep the game running after the title card. Uponturning on the game for the first time, a screen will appear before the title card. This screenwill confirm that the data from the Demo has been detected and has successfully carried over.From the title card, you’ll be able to find your save file from the Demo and load it up andcontinue Clive’s story.
