Blackthorne is the blacksmith of the Hideout and will create new and powerful weapons and gear for Clive, along with upgrading his existing ones inFinal Fantasy 16. Throughout the main story, Blackthorne will be troubled by different things, and Clive will be tasked with trying to figure out what the problem is and how to fix it.

These side quests offer much more character development for Blackthorne while also giving Clive crafting recipes for some of the most useful gear in the game. All the Blacksmith Blues quests must be completed in order and will eventually lead to the recipe for the best sword in the base game.
How To Start Blacksmith Blues III
Blacksmith Blues III will become available after completing theprevious Blacksmith Blues questandunlocks during the “A Song Of Hope” main quest. August will be in his usual place in the Hideout near the bounty board and will inform Clive that Blackthorne is being bothered by something again, beginning the quest and marking Dravozd on your map.

How To Complete Blacksmith Blues III
Blacksmith Blues III will have Clive travel back to Blackthorne’s hometown of Dravozd and meet his old friend, now rival, Zolton.Dravozd is located in the Dhalmekian Republic. The Dravozd obelisk can be unlocked earlier if you happen to stumble across the town earlier in the game. For those who haven’t located it yet,travel to the Tabor obelisk first and follow the route through the valleyto find the gate and gain access.
After talking to Zolton and Blackthorne, you’ll need to go out andfind a Desert Salamander in The Fields of Corava. Sticking to the main road, you’ll find a few dead animals near the Desert Salamander off to the left side. The Desert Salamander isn’t too threatening, with its worst attack being its fire breath. Whenever you see this move,flank to the side and use many abilities while it is locked in its long attack animation.
After defeating the Salamander, return to Blackthorne and hand over the Salamander Skin. Blackthorne uses the skin to help Dravozd before leaving. Returning to the Hideout, you can complete the quest toreceive the Ouroboros Design Draft, along with 100 Bloody Hides, 900 experience,and 35 Renown.
