This story is known for being the first Fate entry to take place in the United States. A new face of the Holy Grail War that was never seen before in the original Fate anime will be portrayed here. According to director Enokido, this work is made not only for Fate fans but for every Type-Moon fan (The parent company of Fate, along Tsukihime, Mahoyo and other related works).

The choice of two directors is also deliberate and meaningful to the story, according to Sakazume. The reason is that each of them will work on a separate part of the story, or more specifically, the True and False holy grail wars that act as the main theme for the events of this story.

Artist and Designer Morii Shizuki (Fate/Extra and Fate/Stay Night) will be doing the character planning, and Daisuke Daito (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045) will be handling the screenplay. The character designer will be Arikei Yamada who also worked on Fate/Grand Order. In addition to the producing team, the main voice actors were also revealed. Kana Hanazawa will be doing Ayaka Sajo, and Tomoki Ono will be doing Sabre’s role. The servants, Archer and Lancer, will be handled by Tomokazu Kei and Yuu Kobayashi respectively. An official website is also nowavailable.

Fate/Strange Fake is currently being serialized as a Light Novel in Dengeki Bunko, and also as a digital manga by Type-Moon Books.
