While the trailer shows a player slowly mutating into a ghoul, many fans are still likely confused about what this new mechanic entails.First, becoming a ghoul is only possible through a specific questline at levels 50 and up.

Once youturn into a ghoul, you’ll have the option to switch back. Sadly, according to the season notes, if you ever wish to turn back into a ghoul after the reversal, it’ll only be available through a purchasable fee.
Alongside turning into a ghoul, the game will support new ways of play that focus on your mutated form. As expected, you’ll be immune to radiation, and you can also expect social impacts, such as being ostracized fromsome factionsand an overall debuff to stats such as charisma.

New Mechanics Coming To Season 20
While playing as a ghoul seems to have its fair share of challenges, it also presents quite a few new specific ghoul-related abilities and perks, allowing players a whole new way to tackle the wasteland.
As a ghoul, you’ll have to constantly watch your “feral meter,” which when filled, will negatively impact your aiming and charisma, but increase your melee damage.Many perks interact with this system, allowing for more aggressive feral attacks or a slower filling meter.
