Fallout 76is brimming with horrific creatures, radiated atrocities, and the unspeakable wildlife ofthe wasteland. Many of the monsters in Fallout 76 are based on real folklore from around West Virginia, and the Flatwoods Monster is no different. Here, in our world, the Flatwoods Monster was a story from the 1950s that came from a group of Flatwoods locals seeing an alien creature in the woods at night and running away. Cowards. Get some hard proof.

However, in Fallout 76 the Flatwoods Monster, aka the Green Monster, isn’t green or a monster. It’s a Zetan, the name for the aliens in the Fallout franchise, that teleports, takes control of animals and turrets, and shoots purple lasers. It also has tiny, disfigured legs, perhaps from the crash, which might explain why a Zetan would be donning the purple, glass-bowl suit. Stumbling across this one is tough, but you can improve your chances of finding the Flatwoods Monster in a couple of ways.

Searching Every Which Way

Looking for the Flatwoods Monster, especially at night, will always give you a chance to find it. In addition to being able to teleport, thatchance, turns out, is very low. Though it can spawn in any area of the map at night, there’s a 2.5% chance of the monster spawning in any one location.

If you add that to the size of the open-world map, the odds get astronomical. But don’t worry! You don’t have to wander blindly, cursed to roam the land forever in vain. There are some easy steps to improve your chances.

However, between social media, friends and colleagues, and a good amount of consensus, the monster has been encountered firsthand in the following areas:

Daily Quest Spawn

Another way to find the Flatwoods Monster is through a quest found in the northeast corner of the map. Found insidethe Hunter’s Shack, Daily: Queen of the Huntis where you’ll visit three locations in the Mire to find a creature waiting. you’re able to start the quest by visiting the Hunter’s Shack and reading the terminal inside. Despite what you find in each location, only killing cryptids will complete the mission.

You can cheat your chances to spawn it by restarting the mission multiple times. If you don’t collect tissue to complete the quest, you can restart your game, and go back to the Hunter’s Shack and restart the quest. This gives you another shot of spawning the Flatwoods Monster. The mission-spawned cryptids possible are the Flatwoods Monster, Grafton Monster, mothman, snallygaster, or the wendigo
