In an interview onThe Lost Boyspodcast, as reported byThe New Zealand Herald,she talked about a scene in season three that left her feeling“mortified”and made her decide that she would never do another n*de scene on the show.
Lilly explained that she was“cornered”into doing a scene where she had to appear partially naked. She felt very uncomfortable, and after the scene, she wasleft shaking and crying. She said,“I was mortified, and I was trembling, and when it finished, I was crying my eyes out.”Because of this experience, she decided she would not participate in any more such scenes on the show. She also added:

In season four, another scene came up where Kate was undressing, and I fought very hard to have that scene be under my control and I failed to control it again. And so I then said, ‘That’s it, no more. you may write whatever you want – I won’t do it. I will never take my clothes off on this show again.
Lilly also talked about how she was frustrated with the direction her character’s story went. As the show went on, she felt that Kate became less strong and more focused on the love triangle with Jack (Matthew Fox) and Sawyer (Josh Holloway). Lilly said:

At the beginning, she was kinda cool, and then as the show went on, she became more and more predictable and obnoxious.
She didn’t like how her character was always chasing after the two men, and it made her angry. The actress also discussed the importance of showing flawed women on screen as she believed that characters who have imperfections allow viewers to feel okay about their own flaws.
