Enshrouded is the latest shadow drop on Steam and one of the well-received survival titles of this year. Some players call it a graphically advanced version of Valheim, but Shrouded indeed has its very own personality with some interesting, one-of-a-kind gameplay mechanics that make it a unique experience.
Enshrouded: How To Craft String
String is a crucial material in Enshrouded, and while it can be found in the world, there are easier ways to get it.
If you want to make progress quite fast in Enshrouded, you need to learn the best of obtaining different resources in the game, including Metal Scraps which is quite an important material for crafting any semi-advanced tools, but it might be a bit difficult to find them earlier in the game.

Where To Find Metal Scraps Early
Most players need Metal Scraps tocraft a Grappling Hook. Before farming Metal Scraps, we strongly suggest youfind a Hatchet, which can be looted from the blue creatures inside Shrouded zones. Now that you have a Hatchet, there are two major places to farm Metal Scraps.
The first one isthe same place where the game started. Open your map, and select theCinder Vaultaltar, which is highlighted by a yellow icon at the south.Fast Travel to the altarand go back to the first room, where you woke up earlierinside a giant pod. There are over a dozen pods inside this room, anddestroying each pod will give you up to 3 Metal Scraps. With a Hatchet, you’re able to easily destroy more than 5 pods and collect up to 15 Metal Scraps. Once your Hatchet is worn, travel back to your base and interact with yourWorkbenchto repair it.

Another good way to collect a handful of Metal Scraps is to getinside the Shrouded zone beneath the Braelyn Bridge. If you follow the path from the right side of the bridge and stay on the road, you will reacha tent, in front of which, there aretwo metal platforms. Destroying them will give you some Metal Scraps.
Where To Farm Metal Scraps Later
Once you make enough progress and learn the combat system, you can head to theother side of the Braelyn Bridge, either using Grappling Hook or from the Shrouded zone. There are different settlements beyond the bridge likeRookmoreand Ancient Vault, the habitants of whichdrop Metal Scraps after death.
Keep in mind that these enemies are hard to deal with, which means you must learn how to dodge attacks and time your moves. That being said, basic weapons like Hatchets are good enough to kill them.
