Elden Ring introduces Crystal weapons, whichscale off your intelligence skills.These weapons don’t require any upgrades to scale from intelligence, making them perfect early-game weapons for mage builds. Greatly focusing your levels on intelligence will have your spells and damage from this weapon doing high amounts of damage. As these weapons scale from intelligence, they alsodiversify your damage elementsby providing magical damage along with physical for all attacks.

Where To Find The Crystal Spear
TheCrystal Spearis located on theeastern side of the Lands Betweenwithin the Sellia Hideaway.To find the Sellia Hideaway, start from theFort Faroth site of grace.From here, head west while moving along the rocky edges until you see the steamy jump point, but you will use it to descend safely closer to the cliffs. Now follow the cliffs towards the east, and you’ll find a small graveyard with a single large enemy in front of a big gravestone. From the graveyard, headdirectly towards the cliff from the back of the large graveyard, rolling or attacking the wall to reveal the illusionary wall and entrance to the Sellia Hideaway.
Sellia Hideaway is mostly a straight path forward from the entrance to the boss. Head through the first dark tunnel to enter a bright and open crystal cave. After this cave is another darker tunnel, opening to asecond lighter crystal cave.Within this cave,follow the right walluntil you come across a small alcove that is seemingly closed off. Roll into or attack the back wall toreveal the illusionary wallin this alcove. It will open to a small room with a body that can be looted to obtain the Crystal Spear.
How To Use The Crystal Spear
The Crystal Spearrequires 10strength, 16dexterity, and 16intelligenceto wield. The Crystal Spear deals bothphysical pierce damagealong with asmall bit ofmagical damage. With this additional elemental damage, this spear cannot be boosted with magic items or buffs. This spear does scale a bit off your intelligence but can be upgraded to eventuallyscale off your Dexterity as a ‘B,‘making it an incredible option early on.
This weapon comes with theskill: Impaling Thrustand cannot be infused withan Ash Of War. This skill is great for closing the distance on enemies but does fall off later in the game. Crystal weapons such as this spear are great options early on and scale off your intelligence to a decent amount, but they alsofall off later in the game. This spear is a great option to find and use early for magic builds, but it should only act as a segue into something else down the line.
