Starting your journey in The Lands Between and getting pummeled into the ground constantly? You’ll want to know how to get the Bloodhound’s Fang.
It’s one of the bestElden Ringweapons you can get early on, and it’s perfectly viable to carry with you till the very end—even through the DLC!

A standard Bloodhound’s Fang is no joke, but a fully upgraded one? You’re going to be slashing and backward somersaulting all over The Lands Between, with the bodies of your enemies being left in your wake.
All About the Bloodhound’s Fang Weapon in Elden Ring
Bloodhound’s Fang is a weapon that scales off of Strength and Dex while being able to apply Blood Loss, one of the best offensive status effects inElden Ring.
You don’t need to go through a million quests to get it either, as you can rush straight to the Bloodhound Fang’s location right out of the tutorial—provided that you have some skill, and we’ll explain why later.

The standard weapon starts with a base attack power of 141 and hits 345 at a +10 upgrade level.
It also adds 55 per hit to an enemy’s bleed meter (which will depend on their resistances), enough to cause enemies to experience Blood Loss pretty quickly if you’re frequently attacking.

That’s not even the best part though: the weapon comes with a unique Ash of War called Bloodhound’s Finesse, which is essentially an attack that lets you swipe at the enemy upwards and use that momentum to somesault backwards.
Then, if you follow up with a charged attack, you’ll immediately use Bloodhound’s Step to close the distance between you and your enemy and slash again.

It’s an insanely powerful Ash of War that only uses 8-12 FP and will help you build that Blood Loss meter in seconds.
The weapon itself is located in Limgrave, and it’s an easy trek to the location. Unfortunately, obtaining the weapon isn’t as easy.

How to Get the Bloodhound’s Fang
To get the Bloodhounds Fang inElden Ring, you must first best its owner, Bloodhound Knight Darriwil, who’s trapped in an Evergoal located in Limgrave. This one doesn’t require any Stonesword Keys to open.
The closest Site of Grace is Agheel Lake South. From there, check the map and notice the round stone circle on the map just south of your location, to the northwest of the bridge that takes you to the Weeping Peninsula.
Make your way there, following the dirt path that’s marked on the map.

All you need to do is hop into the Evergoal and kill Darriwil, who will be on his own. However, if you haven’t guessed it already, the reason this boss drops the Bloodhound’s Fang is because he’s using it for this fight.
This means you’re going to deal with all the cool and powerful attacks this weapon has which we mentioned earlier. Not to worry, asourElden Ringguides cover everything you’ll needto prepare yourself for any fight.
Tips and Tricks for Defeating Bloodhound Knight Darriwil
Before entering the Evergoal, try equipping someElden Ringarmor that is light while offering a decent defense. Darriwil moves pretty fast, so you’ll want to have a light or medium load to dodge his attacks reliably.
Some of theElden Ringitems you’ll want to carry are Stanching Boluses, which mitigate Blood Loss.
The Lord’s Aid incantation, obtained from Brother Corhyn or Miriel after giving them two prayer books, will also mitigate Blood Bloss build-up. However, since this boss moves so fast, you might find that you don’t have enough time to cast it.
Lastly, summoning a Spirit Ash can be super helpful in this fight. It can draw aggro from Darriwil while you try to heal or cure your Blood Loss or even just take a breather.

Darriwil moves pretty fast and will zoom all over the place to close the distance if you back away. Instead, try staying close to him and dodging his hits while giving out a few stabs of your own.
Dodge to his sides, and don’t heal if you see him coming toward you, only when he’s finishing an attack combo and you’ve managed to dodge behind him.
This fight will require a lot of patience, as many attempts will be spent just trying to understand his moveset. Once you do, you’ll finally have your Bloodhound’s Fang, and it’ll all have been worth it.
