The latestDune Awakeningpatch unintentionally left small PvE areas vulnerable to PvP, resulting in a catastrophic swarm of base-raiding thieves who proceeded to loot anything they could get their hands on. Funcom has responded to the reports and have stated that this will be fixed in the next Coriolis storm, but players who lost everything are calling for a rollback.

Dune Awakening Drops Yet Another Patch Against Griefers

Funcom strikes back with a patch aimed at the heart of Dune’s griefer problem.

It appears this glitch happened across many servers, with an island in the D6 area of the map being hit the hardest, but there are also reports of other areas being affected as well, such as the E2 Lab Island, E5, and O7.

Dune Awakening PvP PvE Base Raiding Patch Bugs

Dune: Awakening Patch Bug Results In Base Raiding Free-For-All

The Reddit post from RDJMA paints the picture of a very bleak day for Dune players, who unfortunately built their base in an area they thought was safe, but was latermistakenly turned into a hostile zone.

A rollback has GOT to happen. This unintentional bug just allowed our base to be wiped off the face of the map. 2 Crawlers, 2 Carriers, 6 assaults, 4 scouts left at the base all Mk.6 parts, 8k plast and over 5k melange just gone.

RDJMA stated that their grouplost weeks' worth of progressand won’t be returning to the game unless a rollback happens.

“No one would’ve placed the base where we did if we ever thought this could happen.”

Dune: Awakening has had its fair share of struggles, including vehicle glitches that stop players from taking off at the worst times, inventory items disappearing, item duplication, andproblems with griefing, but this latest patch bug seems to be on a different level of disaster, as the life’s work of many guilds have been stolen by desert pirates foaming at the mouth.

Here are just a few of the Reddit community’s war stories from therecent patchbug:

“Same thing happened to us on Crompton - Rifana. Whole group lost weeks of progress due to this bug. Won’t be playing again unless this serious issue is addressed.” —Tootulz1

“My guild lost 2 carriers and 2 crawlers this morning as we awoke to our base suddenly in PVP zone” —Perfect Cauliflower42

“Probably happened to hundreds of bases realistically. There are a bunch of servers and that island is packed on all of them.” —reboot-your-computer

While droves of PvP savages looted the bases of unsuspecting players, good Samaritans did their best to minimize the damage.

We spent all morning escorting the solos/pve out of D6 when the griefers swarmed the island for ganks and thievery.

Crafting vehicles like carriers and ornithopters andfarming end-game resourcestakes a lot of time and effort, and Dune players are understandably upset about losing all of their progress. While Funcom is aware of the problem and is working on a fix, there’s no news of a patch rollback just yet, as they are most likely still assessing the damage it caused to many players.
