Here at DualShockers, we’ve had a Blast Radius bringing you some of our favorite memories from the past 25 years of Fallout, and although the anniversary week for the beloved franchise has ended, some stories left us excited for what’s still on the horizon.

One of the franchise’s creators, Obsidian co-founder Feargus Urquhart, had a chat with our own Robert Zak, in which he revealed that his studio would “love to make a new Fallout game.” While the series has been headed by Bethesda Softworks since Fallout 3, Urquhart and his team headed up the first two main entries as well as Fallout: New Vegas, the three games at the top of ourFallout rankings, so it would be very exciting to see what they could put together. As if that weren’t enough, Robert also brought us an interview withTim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, in which the duo talk shop all about the series' origins.

As for the present, those who can’t wait for another Fallout game to drop can get their hands on Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition when Epic Games Store releases it for afull week for free, starting October 20.

Microsoft And Playstation Battle In The UK

In industry news, Microsoft was dealt a minor loss with its first attempt to get industry regulators in the UK to approve its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard. While the fight in the UK is not over, Microsoft is claiming that its closest competitor, Sony, isexaggerating the importanceof the Call of Duty franchise, which is one of the intellectual properties of which Microsoft would take control if it can get its acquisition deal approved. Meanwhile, the company seems to be doing well, as the Brazilian regulatory board that issued its approval of the deal last week has found that the Xbox GamePass service mademore than $2.9 billionin revenue last year.

And as the holiday season approaches, Sony seems ready to rise to the challenge, as a recent report indicated the company has ramped up production of the PlayStation 5 and could havefive times as manyunits avaialble as compared to last hoilday season.

Minecraft Live 2022 Brought A Lot Of New Info

Minecraft aficionados also had a lot to celebrate this week, as the two-hour Minecraft Live 2022 brought us information on multiple products from Mojang. The original Minecraft is due forupdate 1.20in 2023, and with it will come a new two-seater mount, building with bamboo, and a bunch of new default skins to make gamers of all ethnicities feel more welcome. Additionally, we got out first peek at the official trailer for action-strategy titleMinecraft Legends, as well as a bunch of background from the creators.

Finally, the annual Minecraft Mob Vote went in favor ofthe sniffer, an ancient being that requires players' help in hatching its eggs and will reward them by providing access to new seeds. With its victory in the contest, in which it received more than 50 percent of the total votes cast, the sniffer will be resurrected and, once developers have finished with it, join the cast of characters in Minecraft.

Could Saints Row Become The Next Cyberpunk 2077? Probably Not.

After launching back in 2020 with so many bugs that many users called it unplayable, Cyberpunk 2077 has had a massive resurgence within the past month. Now, just a couple of months after its release, another much maligned game, Saints Row, is due next month for amajor updatethat developer Volition states will fix more than 200 bugs in the game related to co-op, challenges, and most important of all, stability. While these changes aren’t likely to cause a meteoric rise in the game’s popularity, at least its users are getting free cosmetic packs out of the deal.
