Dragon Ball DAIMAEpisode 6, titled “Lightning”has changed the way fans feel about the series now that its pacing has returned to normal. Some fans have been complaining that the pacing ofDAIMAafter episode 2 had dropped significantly. Not much new information was revealed and Goku was merely showing off his power to low lives, meaning that the stakes weren’t so high to grab the attention of fans.

However, Episode 6 dropped two huge bombshells that made fans excited again. The truth is that because episodes 1 and 2 had such an insane amount of lore drops, fans felt that episodes 3 through 5 were just plain boring in comparison. Dragon Ball hasn’t had this many back-to-back revelations since the Saiyan Saga so fans should allowDAIMAto do its thing and unveil everything in due course.

The truth behind the Supreme Kai’s origins

Episode 6 ofDragon Ball DAIMArevealed the true origins of Shin, the Supreme Kai of Universe 7. As previously disclosed, the Kaioshin are from a species known as Glind from the 2nd world of the Demon Realm. Along with many others in the entire realm, the Glinds too escape into the outer universes, except for Degusu and Dr. Arinsu.

The Glinds are born once every few centuries from the Glind Tree and there are 5 trees in total. This corresponds to whatAkira Toriyamaexplained about the Kaioshins being born from trees, but only that the names have changed. According tothat interview, the Kais are chosen from the members of a certain race called the Shin-jin or “Core People” and they are called this because they are born from inside the fruit that grows on Planet Kai-Shin.

However, the  Kaiōshin are only selected from among Shin-jin born from golden Kaiju fruit, which are particularly rare. The golden fruit Shin-jin has a much longer lifespan than regular Shin-jin, as East Kaiōshin has lived for five million years, while regular Shin-jin has a lifespan of only 75,000 years. Now, inDragon Ball DAIMA, fans learn that the Shin-jin is replaced by the species name “Glind” and the location of Planet Kai-Shin is in the 2nd world of the Demon Realm. Essentially, the creators ofDAIMAstitched together Toriyama’s interview with revised names.

Glorio isn’t as trustworthy as Goku may think

It’s also been confirmed that Glorio is in fact working for Dr. Arinsu to oversee the activities of Goku and the others and monitor their strength. Unlike Goku, Shin was suspicious of Glorio from the beginning and questioned his every move but Glorio was too smart and dodged every one of them.

Glorio even challenged Goku for a one-on-one sparring session and the result of that match was an easy victory for Goku. Glorio unleashed his strongest magic spell on Goku and it was easily swayed away. This gave the confirmation to Glorio that Goku would be the one to defeat King Gomah and have Dr. Arinsu the new Supreme Ruler of the Demon Realm.

All these revelations made fans glued to their screens, as each of them will have a subtle but profound impact on the way fans look at Dragon Ball. For instance, the fact that Dr. Arinsu, a scientist, has an interest in Saiyans indicates that they’d probably use their DNA to create another Majin Buu capable of defeating not only Gomah but the Saiyans themselves. It has previously beenleakedby Geekdom101 that a new Majin Buu will arise so the implications of these revelations are staggeringly huge.

I think appreciating the subtext in Daima has really prevented me from making the same complaints I’ve seen about pacing and the over all content in Daima. There is such an unbelievable amount of information being thrown at you I don’t see anyone could find Daima boring.
