Drag x Drive was initially revealedwith a loose “Summer 2025” release window. Unlike the recent kerfuffle with theMetroid Prime 4: Beyondrelease date, fans now know when it’s launching, as it was announced on the Nintendo Today app that Drag x Drive is launching on June 12, 2025.
Drag X Drive Is Launching This Summer
Nintendo Today also confirmed that Drag x Drive is launching as a Nintendo eShop exclusive, meaning it won’t get a physical release. This is going to perturb a lot of the fanbase, who will see the game as a finite commodity, outside of piracy.
The other major question about Drag x Drive that remains unansweredis its price point. Nintendo has infamously jacked up the prices of its games on the Switch 2, and fans are curious to see how much a smaller experience like Drag x Drive will cost, especially when the company had charged for the Nintendo Switch Welcome Tour.

Drag x Drive feels like it’s intended to be a showcase of the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, so it hopefully won’t be too expensive. If it’s launching in August, then it means Nintendo may have its first year schedule lined up, and fans might learn more about other titles soon.
