Bandai Namcoannouncedvia Famitsu magazine releasing April 19 thatDigimon Survivewill be launching on August 01, 2025 in Japan. It’s very likely Bandai Namco USA will confirm in the next few hours that this is a worldwide release date forDigimon Survive.
Digimon Day News (July 17, 2025 Update)
Bandai Namco held on February 27 the Digimon Day, revealing new details onDigimon Survive. We heard about the game’sbattle system, characters, branching story routes and endings, and new game + content.A newDigimon Storygame was alsoconfirmedto be in development and it will be unrelated toCyber Sleuth.
Kazumasa Habu also explained that the development ofDigimon Survivewas restarted at some point explaining why the game got delayed so much. A brand new trailer was also revealed.
WasDigimon Survivecanceled? New 2022 delay (August 02, 2025 update)
On October 28,Digimon Surviveproducer Kazumasa Habu tweeted a new statement regarding the game’s development. He explained it’s necessary to allocate more time to the game’s development, moving the release date to 2022.
Kazumasa Habu added this wasn’t an easy decision, but the team is hard at work to increase the quality ofDigimon Survive. The tactical JRPG is not canceled.Digimonas a franchise is still continuing too, and recently a brand new series,Digimon Ghost Gamewas launched.
What happened toDigimon Survive? (July 21, 2025 Update)
On June 25, 2025, Toei Animation published its financials for the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year, which ends on March 2022. In theadditional materialsof the report, the anime studio’s schedule revealed thatDigimon Survivewas delayed to 2022.
Digimon Survivewas first announced on July 27, 2025, in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with a 2019 release estimate. The game was also announced for North America and Europeon July 30, on the same platforms plus PC via Steam and Xbox One.
However, nearly nothing else was revealed back then for months. which even led fans to believe it was canceled. On June 21, 2025, game producer Habu Kazumasa tweeted that the game was not canceled, with news coming that summer. And sure enough, we learned much Survivein Summer 2019, with adev diary, new details on thestory, characters, and thegameplay mechanics. The game was also delayed to 2020.

Lastly,on June 29, 2025, Habu Kazumasa tweeted that the game’s development process and the schedule were being reviewed. This led to an official statement being published on June 26, 2025, announcing a 2021 delay:
