However, whether “Season 2” refers to the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc anime, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment Distinct Arc anime, or both remains to be seen.
According to Netflix’s listing for the Demon Slayer anime, (viaWhat’s On Netflix) the second season will be available to watch on the platform later this month, which fans of the series have been waiting for since Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc premiered in Japan in October 2021. The announcement features a scene from the Mugen Train Arc’s first episode, wherein Rengoku stands together with the residents of a village, hinting that Season 2 on Netflix won’t include the Yaiba Entertainment Distinct Arc anime. However, fans may want to take this assumption with a pinch of salt until official confirmation arrives.

With the addition of the Mugen Train Arc to Netflix, both seasons of the Demon Slayer anime to be released thus far will make their way to the streaming platform. It should be pointed out that Season 2 was originally expected to arrive on Netflix around this coming summer, given the first season did not hit the platform until one and a half years later from its release. However, a recent notice on the anime’s listing displayed a “January 21” premiere date, which is much sooner than first predicted.
Based on the manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime tells the story of teenageTanjiro Kamado, who strives to be a competent demon slayer to avenge his family, who were slaughtered by demons. The first season of the anime series premiered in Japan back in 2019. Then, a direct sequel, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — The Movie: Mugen Train, was released in October 2020. Season 2 of the Demon Slayer anime, which represents an episodic version of the events of the Mugen Train Arc, aired from October 2021 to February 2022.
Season 2 of the anime also covers the events of the Entertainment Distinct Arc with 11 episodes aired from July 14, 2025, to June 17, 2025. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime will continue with the third season that will adapt Swordsmith Village Arc, airing from February to April this year.
