Aniplex announced on February 14 theDemon SlayerTV anime adaptation will be getting a season 2 in 2021. The season will be a direct sequel toDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Trainand adapt the Yukaku arc from the original manga. As such, in Japanese the new TV anime is officially titledKimetsu no Yaiba Yukaku-hen.A key visual and an announcement trailer were revealed and can be found below. The details most notably revealed Tengen Uzui will be voiced byKatsuyuki Konishi.Ufotable will be handling the animation production ofDemon Slayerseason 2, and the staff and cast are returning from the first season. Comments from Natsuki Hanae, the seiyuu voicing Tanjiro, were published as well, and he told fans to “look forward to it”.

The new TV anime season ofDemon Slayerwas announced at the “Kimetsu Matsuri Online Anime 2nd Anniversary Festival”. The program, region-locked to Japan on streaming service Abema TV, also revealed the first live gameplay footage forKimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan, theDemon Slayergame releasing in 2021 onPS4,PS5,Xbox One,Xbox Series X|SandPC.

Moreover, an OST for the firstDemon SlayerTV anime season was also announced for May 26 in Japan.  Latly, an OST CD for the November 2020 orchestra concert is also releasing on August 25. Thefirst print limited edition will contain a bluray disc with footage of the concert:

While the originalDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibamanga ran from February 2016, to May 2020, the first TV anime adaptation by Studio Ufotable, aired in 2019, has been incredibly popular. The movie sequel,Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Trainreleased on July 31, 2025, in Japan. It became in 73 days the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. It was only a matter of time until a new TV anime season would be announced.
