It’s been a little while now since we’ve had a no-holds-barred zombie onslaught title, but after 20 years, one of the best is making a reappearance. We already had a tease last week about whatCapcomwas cooking up but now we finally know that the 2006Dead Risingis heading for a remaster.
As part of the game’s 10th anniversary, Capcom gave Dead Rising an HD remaster in 2016, but this time, the studio will step it up a notch with Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster by adding better character textures and more realistic looking features. Amid the good news, some fans weren’t happy about the game receiving a digital-only release, but it seems like they won’t have to wait too much longer to get it physically in their hands.

From Dead Rising to The Walking Dead, these are the greatest games featuring those iconic undead foes, the zombies.
Dead Rising fans will finally be able to make a (re)visit to Colorado’s sprawling, zombie-infested Willamette Parkview Mall to tackle hordes of gut-ripping ghouls with an anything-goes weaponry choice, and this time, those brain-splattering moments will be much clearer. With upgraded visuals, quality-of-life improvements, and more, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be more “evolved” regarding mall designs, featuring real-time lighting and shadow effects.

Releasing on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 19th September, fans are more than keen to get their hands on it physically and weren’t too pleased to hear about its digital-only launch. Twitter/X userMR_SaBeR20wasn’t having any of this andtoldthe Dead Rising social page that they wouldn’t be purchasing it in its digital version. “When will the Physical version be available? As I will not buy digital, please provide more information?”
One disappointed fan who alsopostedin the thread was concerned about the game’s non-digital release, as well as, apparently, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, ““Digitally” So no physical planned for it or kunitsu-gami?”, whileanotherstated how annoyed those who want a physical copy would be “Damn physical copy enthusiasts are fuming lol”. Thankfully, they don’t have anything to worry about, as even though Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster won’t have a physical release in September, it will be getting onea few months laterin November, so crisis diverted.
If you fancy getting in on thepre-orderfor Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, the bonuses will include three costumes for Frank - Frank West 2006, Dead Rising 2’s Chuck Green, and the Willamette Parkview Mall Bee - plus three mall tunes so you’re able to smash bodies in style.
