Since its debut in 2016, the asymmetric multiplayer horror gameDead By Daylighthas kept players terrifiedby introducing new content and Killers to its roster. Some of the most memorable new additions have been crossovers with horror icons from film and television, includingA Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Kruegerandthe Demogorgon fromStranger Things. For the game’s 4th anniversary,Dead By Daylightis stepping things up by introducing a new Killer from one of the most well-known horror franchises around in the world of video games.
As part of the game’s 4th anniversary celebration, developer Behaviour Interactive has revealed that the next Chapter ofDead By Daylightwill be focused around theSilent Hillseries. In a collaboration with Konami, the new Chapter will introduce several pieces of content inspired by the iconic survival-horror franchise, including one of its most recognizable foes.
Shown through a new trailer by Behaviour Interactive, the new Chapter ofDead By Daylightwill featureSilent Hill’s Pyramid Head as the next Killer, giant rusty cleaver and all. The new Chapter will also introduce Cheryl Mason (who appeared in the original game and was the main protagonist ofSilent Hill 3) as the next Survivor, and a new map inspired by one of the original game’s locations, Midwich Elementary School.
Both Pyramid Head (who will be known in-game as “The Executioner”) and Cheryl will have their own unique abilities for players to utilize, whether they are playing as the Killer or trying to survive. Pyramid Head in particular will stand out from the game’s roster of Killers by having the ability to utilize ranged attacks and can dig trenches with his massive knife which will require players to work their way around. Likewise, Cheryl will have new abilities aimed at stealth and for effectively navigating around the Killer.
Alongside the new characters and map, theSilent HillChapter will also introduce new Legendary Outfits inDead By Daylightthat can completely change the appearance of in-game Survivors and Killers. For theSilent Hillcontent, that will include new designs for Pyramid Head based on his appearance in other installments of the series, and a skin that changes Cheryl into Lisa Garland, the iconic nurse that has appeared in several of the series' games. The new Chapter will also feature a special collaboration withSilent Hillcomposer Akira Yamaoka, who worked withDead By Daylightcomposer Michel F. April to create aSilent Hill-themed iteration of the game’s theme music.
Dead By Daylightis available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android. TheSilent HillChapter content is available now through the game’s public test server on PC, and will officially debut for consoles and PC on June 28, 2025.
