Days Goneis an underrated PlayStation first-party title developed by Bend Studio. The developers received unfair treatment from the publisher after the project was released at an unstable rate which affected review scores but the gaming community saw the potential.

It isn’t too late to give it a massive visual and performance boost. Sony may have pulled the plug on the highly-demanded sequel but there is always room for improvement even if it was ported to PC. Some fans gave the game a significant overhaul that could make Sony reconsider.
Days Gone Remastered Could Be the Perfect Apology From Sony
The developers planned for a sequel butSony refused to greenlight the projectand mandated Bend Studio to work on another project as part of the company’s initiative to expand into uncharted territory and develop multiplayer games instead. It is disappointing that a creative vision was snuffed out because Sony is too afraid to take another risk despite the high demand and positive feedback.
The game launched on the PlayStation 4 and it struggled to run the game at a stable rate. However, the developers remedied the situation through a series of patches and updated it to work on the PlayStation 5 which was later ported to PC.

The game ran smoothly on PC with a few rough edges butsome fans cranked up the graphics and made it look even more realistic with ray-tracing. Perhaps the developers bit off more than they could chew and underestimated the complexities of creating a game on last-generation hardware.
But the team has learned so much and was hoping for a second chance. Unfortunately, Sony owns the IP and has the final say. Maybe a remaster for the PlayStation 5 could convince them to reconsider and allow Bend to expand the IP once the current multiplayer project is complete.

The Gaming Community Is Holding Out Hope for Days Gone 2
John Garvin is one of the directors of the original game andhe is not afraid to take a jab at Sony for putting his project on the sidelines. It would be most unfortunate to not move the story forward after the first game ended on a massive cliffhanger.

Fans were eager to see Deacon return for a new adventure inDays Gonesequel but might have to settle for a remastered version if Sony were to even grant them that. The publisher apparently values the score and rating more than community feedback which is a silly way to gauge success.
Some fans were even upset if Sony were to greenlight a sequel of another PlayStation exclusive that did not do all the great compared to this project. It may not have had a great reception at the start but the public opinion has shifted towards their favor.

Game development is a risky business and Sony seems to have lost its way. Rather than giving the respect the game deserves, it was completely disregarded and left behind. Garvin is right to be angry and the franchise has earned the right for a sequel.
