Date Everythingboasts a wide range of characters to meet, interact with, and perhaps even fall in love with. With over 100 fully voiced characters with unique personalities and backstories, this game has a deceptively small size with loads of content to sink your teeth into.
WhileDate Everything is alreadyplenty transparent about its game mechanics and seems rather proud of the sheer amount of content it has for a relatively smallsandboxgame, one of the most difficult aspects of the game is thatit can be overwhelming,as it can set you on your quest to find your perfect match with very little guidance.

Date Everything: 10 Least Likeable Dateables
They can’t all be winners.
How you want to playDate Everythingis completely up to you. After all, there is no fail state,as your goal is to simply meet and get to know every Dateable in your small house.
When I first started playingDate Everythingfor the review, there were moments when I wished I had someone to guide me before I started. I can finally share some tips and tricks to share that I’ve picked up along the way after 40+ hours and a new save file.

11Content Aware Mode
They Thought Of Everything And Everyone
One of the best praises I can give toDate Everythingis that the devs were considerate of the player’s needs by includinga Content Aware mode, which allows you to skip through potentially triggering and sensitive subject matter, especially mental health, abuse, and even other darker topics.
When Content Aware mode detects a potentially triggering topic while speaking with an object, you are given the option to skip through that and automatically complete that dialogue. you’re able to turn this feature on and off by talking to Skylar and going through her features.

While this might not be necessary for everybody, it’s still a great feature to include.
10Some Dateables Have Prerequisites
Elbow Grease May Be Required
Date Everythinggives you hints on your next Dateable through the Roomers feature, but won’t reveal much else, especially on how and where to find them.
Keep in mind thatnot all Dateables can be found on the first day—some require acquiring an ending with another object, or can even be available only in the late game.

For example, Monique can only be accessed after you’ve achieved an ending with Sophia the safe, or Hero Hime is available once you’ve done a lot of work to Realize 10 Dateables.
Take your time, and eventually you’ll uncover all 100+ Dateables.

9Hidden Dateables Can Hide In Plain Sight
They’re More Than Meets The Eye
I didn’t know this when I first playedDate Everything, but because of how self-referential and silly it is, the game often breaks the fourth wall in ways that you don’t usually expect via secret Dateableswho hide in plain sight.
Take note of the game’s features and environment, and try shooting your love beams at things that you normally take for granted, and you’ll be able to sleuth these characters out in no time.
There are at least half a dozen characters who are hiding in places you normally wouldn’t expect to find a Dateable. Try starting with certain apps on your phone, or perhaps shadows that might be out of place.
8Earning SPECS Points
Unlock Bonus Dialogue
At first glance, SPECS stats seem like a major gameplay mechanic. While they are important in the late game, where you need them for an object’s Realization Recipe, they’re not that important during dialogue. They don’t give you any major advantages in winning an object’s favor—only to add extra flavor in your conversation.
As Skylar explains during her tutorial mode, you can earn SPECS points regardless of the ending. As long as you’re changing your affinity with them from neutral to love, friendship, or hate, you’ll get the SPECS points that correspond to the object, regardless of how they feel towards you.
7Check In On Your Friends/Lovers
They Might Have Something For You
Just because you’ve completed a friendship or love ending doesn’t mean that all their dialogue choices have been exhausted.
While their main unique storyline may be complete, they still might have something for you to experience, or even just a little kiss for you.
Sometimes talking to an object with whom you’ve already achieved an ending can also give you Roomers to expand your harem of hot objects.
6Hate Endings Aren’t The End Of The World
Time To Make Amends
Let’s say you’ve managed to piss offTimothy Timepieceby constantly being late or too early for your appointments and disrupting his “sshhhhhedule,” and now he hates you for your blatant disregard for timeliness, when all you wanted was to bring whimsy to his exceedingly structured life. Is your love life hopeless?
Date Everything: Sinclaire Guide
Really everything, including the kitchen sink.
Thankfully, the game gives you a second chance to fix your mistakes.Once you’veunlocked the attic and met Keith,he can take a good look at you and give you SPECS candies, should you have the prerequisite points in the corresponding stat.
You can return to the object who hates you and give them the candy, which will return you to a point in their storyline before the hate ending.
Because of the way the game counts affinity points in the background, some character endings can be locked to a Hate ending if you interact with them again.
But beware—you may only receive one candy per stat, so use them wisely. These should only be used in emergencies.
5Knowledge Is Power
There Are Other Ways To Know Your Lovers
You can’t just blow through the dialogue, especially if you’re not already super familiar with the Dateable. Besides, the point of the game is to get to know them and spend meaningful time with them, so why not read up on their Date-a-Dex entries?
If you need a quick summary of certain Dateables and your progress with them, you can easily pull up your phone and read through everything that has transpired. The game also tells you what they like and dislike.
While these notes may seem like inconsequential flavor text, they can be a major hint in winning their favor, or perhaps earning a hate ending by doing the exact opposite.
4Manually Save Often
No Shame In Save-Scumming
Relax. You’re not playing a serious RPG likeBaldur’s Gate 3, and you don’t have to takeDate Everythingsuper seriously, especially when the main goal in playing this silly dating sim is to meet all the hot characters.
Purists be damned. There’s no shame in save-scumming, especially if you’re actively trying to get a desired endingwith certain Dateables with whom you want to get it on.
Since the game autosaves after every conversation, a good rule of thumb is to make a manual save at the beginning of each day, so that in case you get a bad ending with a character, you can easily locate that specific day where you made a decision and rewind time.
There have been moments where I have accidentally gotten a Hate ending with characters I really want to get a Love ending with. In my first playthrough, I had to live with that heartbreak, and that’s a mistake I’ll never make again.
Playing a game naturally and accepting the consequences of your actions is overrated, anyway.
3Unlock The Crawlspace And Attic Early
As Above, So Below
As the title suggests, you’ll want to unlock the crawl space and attic as early as you can. That way, you have access to the entire house and can go there whenever you want.
Thankfully, the crawlspace and attic are tied to the same questline, and we’ve even written aguide.By unlocking both the crawlspace and attic, you’ll have unlocked at least a dozen previously hidden characters, and even open up some new storylines for the others.
2Focus On 5 Dateables At A Time
Don’t Stretch Your Attention Too Much
I get it—Date Everythingcan be really overwhelming for those who are used to objective markers. Not only does the game have more than 100 (and counting) characters you can meet and familiarize yourself with, but after the tutorial, you’re leftin your housewith the only instructions as “continue to awaken more objects.”
What do you do? How do you even go about meeting and achieving an ending with all 100 characters? While you can, of course, meet them in whatever order you want, this can get chaotic really easily.
In my experience, the best way to playDate Everythingis to play strategically and give yourself a limit on how many storylines you may complete simultaneously.Since the game only gives you five charges a day, you can limit yourself to going through five Dateables, only moving on to a new character once you’ve achieved an ending.
Plus, you can also focus on one room at a time, and, luckily, the game world is already small as it is.For example, I started my playthrough by focusing on the bedroom first, then moving on to the bathroom, the gym, and so on. While this can be restricting for some, this kind of structure can help mitigate the overwhelming chaos that can come from speaking to too many objects at once.
