If you head over to the mainwebpagefor Cygames' upcoming JRPGGranblue Fantasy Relink,you’ll notice that Platinum Games' logo has been removed from the site. Additionally, the game has been removed fromPlatinum Games' website. Both companies released separate statements as to why this has happened.

Tokyo-based video game publisher and developer Cygames, Inc. (HQ: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Koichi Watanabe, hereinafter referred as “Cygames”) has recently been engaged in the co-development of the upcoming console gameGranblue Fantasy: Relinktogether with esteemed developer PlatinumGames Inc.
Going forward, Cygames will handle 100 percent of development internally.
Cygames would like to assure everyone looking forward to the title that we remain committed to delivering a game that meets the expectation of our fan-base and gamers everywhere.

Regarding Conclusion of the Development Contract forGranblue Fantasy: Relink
While we, PlatinumGames, have been working with Cygames in co-development of the upcoming console gameGranblue Fantasy: Relink, we officially announce our contract on the project has come to an end. Development will still continue, but be handled solely by Cygames’ internal development team.
We would like to express our thanks to everyone who has shown interest in the project, and ask that the same support should continue forGranblue Fantasy: Relinkas its production continues forward.
Obviously, the two companies have parted ways on their collaborative development of the upcoming title. I don’t think fans have too much to worry about though.Granblue Fantasy: Relinkshould still be coming soon so I’m sure not much has to change in terms of the development process.Granblue Fantasy Relinkwas originallyslated for a 2018 releasebut has since been pushed back; no official date has been given since.
In case you missed it, Cygames revealed adeep lookat a dungeon inGranblue Fantasy Relinkback in December. This footage alone made it one of my most anticipated JRPGs. Additionally, the development team shared a ton of details on the game’sstoryline, multiplayer, and a PC version. It’s worth noting that no PC version has been announced but Cygames did express interest in bringing it to Steam at some point.
Additionally, prolific fighting game developer Arc System Works is creating acore fighting gamebased on theGranblueseries; it’ll be titledGranblue Fantasy Versus.The mobile director behindGranblue Fantasygave fans plenty of details on the game’saccessibility as well as a potential PC version.
As previously mentioned,Granblue Fantasy Relinkcurrently has no set release date. It’ll launch first on PS4 and we’ll hopefully hear about other potential ports soon after.
