In the vast world of manga and anime, there are only a few names that have achieved the same popularity as Eiichiro Oda’sOne Piece. With a vast and ever-growing world that features a wide array of characters and storylines that would keep the fans sitting at the edge of their seats, the title has become a cultural phenomenon.

A still from Netflix’s One Piece.

The series continues to grow in popularity as Oda-Sensei features new and intriguing arcs that will make the fans feel overwhelmed. However, more than resonating emotionally, it is the villains that made the overall story so much more interesting. One fine example of this idea is how Sir Crocodile has been a fan-favorite villain for ages.

With the live-action series returning with a second season, the character is set to make his debut, where Joe Manganiello will play the role. Since the actor has also portrayed the role of Deathstroke in DC, fans have gone into an argument about who is the better villain out of the two.

Why is Deathstroke One of DC’s Greatest Villains?

Sometimes life plays a strange role in how things ultimately turn out for us.Joe Manganiello, the actor who was supposed to be a part of Zack Snyder’s DCEU, was kicked out after the director was sacked for his lack of success.

However, Manganiello was a loved name among the fans because of his portrayal of the iconic DC villain Deathstroke. The character rose in popularity over the years, where he was just a mere antagonist fighting the Teen Titans.

Though going by an alias, his real name is Slade Wilson, and he is considered to be one of the most formidable names due to his deadeye accuracy and tactical genius. The antagonist is the perfect blend of intelligence, physical prowess, and moral ambiguity that sets him apart from being a typical supervillain who is bent on taking over the world.

However, Deathstroke is more than just a bad guy, because his backstory would move one to tears. Wilson was a soldier who volunteered to become a part of an experiment that would enhance his physique, reflexes, and intelligence, but it came with an unpayable cost.

The character’s relationship with his family started deteriorating, especially after a mission, where his son was gravely injured. Moreover, it is his tragic past, shaped heavily by loss, betrayal, and a strong moral objective, that showcases his inner conflict, often affecting his actions.

Sir Crocodile Remains One ofOne Piece’sBest Villains

Featuring for the first time in the Alabasta arc ofEiichiro Oda’sOne Piece. The character was initially featured as a tall and broad man. However, instead of going by his real name, Sir Crocodile, he went with Mr. 0, this went hand in hand with his evil organization called Baroque Works.

The organization had the sole purpose of destabilizing the kingdom of Alabasta, only to become its new de facto ruler. The Desert King was also a part of the 7 Warlords of the Sea and made himself look like a saint figure, by taking down the invaders and pirates that came to rule the land.

Sir Crocodile was a menace as the cleverly plotted to gain the trust of the people, only to stab them in the back. Moreover, his hard-hitting and philosophical dialogues would make one question their ideologies.

While the plan ultimately failed because of the Straw Hat Pirate, and the unseen betrayal from Miss All-Sunday, also known as Nico Robin, the seventh member of the pirate crew.

Though much of his backstory is not revealed by Eiichiro Oda, he continues to remain the greatest villain despite featuring names like Arlong, Kaido, King, and so many more. Hence, remaining in the shadows and nearly taking down the monarchy makes him a mastermind, who can make things happen.

Moreover, he was a menace to fight with, especially because of his Logia-type Devil Fruit, Suna Suna no Mi, which gave him complete control of the sand around him. Moreover, Logia types can allow the user to turn into the natural element that can become the user’s shield or blade.

Combined with the fruit’s damage and his intellect, Crocodile possessed the power to perform unique and terrifying moves that would leave his foes dehydrated. The consequences were seen when he defeated Luffy in the blink of an eye.

However, if the Devil Fruit’s abilities were not enough, where he would be pretty much invincible in a desert, he would wear a poisonous hook that would do the job in an instant.

With such ruthlessness and the intellect to get the job done without letting his emotions get the better of him, Sir Crocodile is the superior villain out of the two!

Fans React to Who’s the Superior Villain

In theory, Mr. 0 looks like the better villain than Deathstroke, but fans share mixed feelings, especially after Joe Manganiello portrayed both roles. Although he is yet to make his debut as the Desert King, fans are excited to see him, as his announcement was met with great excitement.

Recently, a fan took toX, where they praised the actor for losing the role of the DC villain, only to“become an even better villain.”This sparked a war among the fans as they chose the better villain. They commented,

Those who actually know what Deathstroke can actually do knows that crocodile can’t win if they were fighting all you need to do is Splash Water on him, Crocodile is just Sandman

Dearhstroke is overrated. Dude upgraded to a better role

He would’ve done Deathstroke more justice than that character deserves

Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see how theMagic Mike XXLactor is going to add his personal touch to the villain in the live-action series, as he is all set to feature alongsideLera Abovain the upcoming season ofOne Piecelive-action.

One Piecelive-action can be streamed on Netflix. Season 2 of the TV series doesn’t feature an official release date.
