Things keep getting worse for Concord. Not only did the open beta barely manage to peak at over 2,000 players onSteam, it has now been reported thatPlayStation’s upcoming hero shooter hasn’t even cracked the top 750 most wishlisted games on Steam. For a new live service game published by Sony, this is a very worrying sign.

Concord immediately got off to a bad start when it was revealed earlier this year. After PlayStation unveiled the title at a new State of Play event back in May, fansbombarded the trailer with dislikes and negative comments, making it clear that fans are fed up with the same old hero shooters hitting the market every few months.

“We’re Fools”: Soulframe Director Knew Title Sounded Soulslike But Went With It Anyway

The devs from Digital Extemes said they “agonized” over going with the Soulframe title that wandered a little close to FromSoftware’s games.

Fans not only took shots at Concord appearing indistinguishable from many other hero shooters but also claimed that one of the characters was"ripping off" a boss from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. So it’s fair to say that Concord’s initial reception wasn’t exactly sunshine and roses.

But, with that being said, those who actually bothered to try out the open beta had fairly positive reactions to the shooter, with some evensaying it is “better than Overwatch.”

But it looks like even a positive reaction from fans might not be enough to save Concord, at least on Steam anyway.

Concord’s Steam Wishlists Paint A Bleak Future For The New Shooter

As discovered byTheGamer, Concord sits “well outside” the top 750 games on Steam’s wishlist charts. For a live-service game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, having barely on wishlists on a platform as big as Steam is a worrying sign.

At the time of writing this article, Black Myth: Wukong, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Frostpunk 2, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and Monster Hunter Wilds are dominating Steam’s top five most wishlisted games. While all of these games are in vastly different genres to Concord, Marvel Rivals, another hero shooter, is sitting comfortably in the top 15, despite not even having a confirmed release date yet.

PC-1

Concord has a scheduled release date of August 23rd on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, meaning the new title is less than one month away from launch. While there’s no way for us to know how well the open beta did on PlayStation, things aren’t looking to great for the title on Steam.

WHERE TO PLAY

Players can now invite others to multiplayer games via a shareable URL link, even if they’re not one of your PSN friends.
